Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply:

  • Regular employees of South Eastern Railway, excluding RPF/RPSF Personnel, Law Assistants, and Catering Supervisors.

Educational Qualification:

  • For Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP): Matriculation/SSLC with ITI or Diploma in relevant trades.
  • For Trains Manager (Goods Guard): Degree from a recognized university.

Age Limit:

  • General: 18 to 42 years
  • SC/ST: 18 to 47 years
  • OBC: 18 to 45 years (as of July 1, 2024).

Minimum Marks for Eligibility: 

  • UR-40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.

Selection Process

The selection process for the advertised positions will involve several stages:

Computer Based Test (CBT): 

  • Candidates who have submitted their applications online will first undergo a CBT. This test will cover subjects like General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Intelligence & Reasoning. The CBT will consist of multiple-choice objective-type questions, conducted in English and Hindi. Each question carries one mark, and there will be a penalty for wrong answers.

Aptitude Test (wherever applicable): 

  • Some positions may require candidates to undergo an aptitude test after the CBT. Employees under the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) quota will also have to pass the aptitude test if applicable.

Document Verification:

  • Shortlisted candidates from the CBT and aptitude test (if applicable) will be called for document verification. They must bring all original documents for verification, including educational certificates, caste certificates, date of birth certificates, and employee certificates.

Medical Examination:

  • Candidates who clear the document verification stage will undergo a medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure they are fit for the duties associated with the post. Candidates must ensure their medical fitness, as unfit candidates will not be given an alternate post.

Final Merit List: 

  • The final merit list will be prepared strictly based on the performance in the CBT, aptitude test (if applicable), document verification, and medical examination. Empanelment will be done in the order of merit.
