UGC NET June 2024
The University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for June 2024 has seen an extension of four days for application submission, now closing on May 19. Candidates aiming for Junior Research Fellowship, assistant professor eligibility, and PhD admission must apply on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The registration deadline has been extended twice.
A correction window for registered candidates will be open from May 21 to 23. Notably, the June exam will be in OMR format, a departure from previous years. Candidates with specific qualifications like MA in Geography or Humanities can appear for specialized subjects. However, all candidates must attempt Paper 1, covering teaching and research aptitude. Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
- For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), the upper age limit is 30 years as of the first day of the examination month.
- There is a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD/Third Gender categories.
- There is no lower or upper age limit for Assistant Professor eligibility.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university with at least 55% marks in their qualifying examination.
- SC/ST/PWD/OBC-NCL/Third Gender candidates need only 50% marks.
- Those appearing in the final year of their Postgraduate examination are eligible.
- Candidates who have pursued a four-year Bachelor’s degree or are in the last semester/year are also eligible to apply for UGC NET June 2024.
