The written part of the exam was held on 9th and 10th December 2023. Candidates can check their provisional results online within 15 days from the date of publication, with mark sheets available for 30 days.

However, certain results are withheld pending court cases or seniority list revisions. The final selection will be based on Department of Personnel & Training guidelines and pending court cases, including those related to reservation in promotion. Here is the official PDF for the UPSC Result.

Qualification Criteria

Here is an explanation of the qualification criteria:

  1. The candidates whose Roll Numbers are listed have passed the written part of the exam.
  2. However, their status is "provisional," meaning it's not final yet.
  3. Their eligibility will be reviewed in later stages of the process.
  4. If any candidate is found to be ineligible during this review, their participation in the exam will be canceled.

Selection Process

The final decision on who gets selected will follow rules from the Department of Personnel & Training. But, this decision depends on some court cases being resolved first.

These cases are about how promotions are given, especially concerning fairness and individual achievements. So, until these legal issues are sorted out, the selection process can't finish.

It's important to make sure everything is fair and lawful when picking candidates for the job. Once the court cases are settled, the Department will then choose the candidates based on the set rules.
