1923 Season 1 Ending Explained
After just eight episodes, the first season of 1923 has concluded, leaving fans of the Yellowstone prequel feeling disappointed. The good news, however, is that Paramount+ has already announced that the show will be returning for a second season, so viewers won't be left in suspense like they were in 1883. The main issue that fans had with the finale was the lack of resolution. While there was plenty of action, much of it was quite disturbing. Teonna (Aminah Nieves) and Pete (Cole Brings Plenty) were still on the run, Jacob's (Harrison Ford) financial problems worsened, and Elizabeth (Michelle Randolph) and Jack (Darren Mann) lost their baby. The central plotline focused on Alex and Spencer's efforts to return to Montana, but their journey was fraught with challenges. As they continued their journey, they encountered Alex's former fiance, Arthur (Rafe Soule), on the ship. Spencer and Arthur fought, and Arthur challenged Spencer to a duel, which resulted in Arthur being thrown overboard. Spencer was thrown in the brig and then taken off the ship, causing a painful separation for the couple. Most importantly, they still had not made it back to Montana.

The show also highlights the struggles faced by Native American children in the era through the story of a young girl who escapes from a cruel Catholic boarding school. As tensions rise and new dangers emerge, legacies are threatened before they even begin. With the first season now wrapped up, it's time to reflect on "1923" and what it means for the "Yellowstone" franchise."
