The main struggle in a flight is that, we cannot get on or get down as per our wish. There are a lot of procedures to follow before an emergency landing. Most weird incidents that have happened on an aeroplane involve a person insanely trying to open the main door. There have been a lot more incidents, which mainly invloves passengers fighting with each other. Let’s see the most strange things that have happened on an aeroplane.
Snake on a Plane
A green snake was found hanging from the overhead baggage compartment on a flight to Mexico. Thankfully, no one was bitten by the snake. Following this emergency the plane was landed quickly in Mexico City. How the snake got there is still a mystery to the staff of the airline.
The Pilot was Attacked by a Cat
Another strange incident happened in a Sudanese flight that had to make an emergency landing at Khartoum International Airport after a cat attacked the pilot in the cockpit. This happened shortly after takeoff, but nobody could figure out how the cat got inside. All of the passengers were safely evacuated after the landing.
A Drunk Man Bites the Finger of a Flight Attendant
Muhammad John Jaiz Boudewijn, an aggressive, intoxicated man, forced Turkish Airlines' flight from Istanbul to Jakarta to make an emergency landing in October 2022. In a widely shared video, the man became enraged and attacked one flight attendant while attempting to attack another.
Peacock as an Emotional Support
People have been bringing exotic animals on planes as "emotional support animals" with a doctor's note. In 2018, United Airlines denied a seat to a performance artist who claimed a peacock as her emotional support animal. To bring an animal onboard, Delta Air Lines now asks a 48-hour notice, documentation from a licensed medical professional, a true reason for the animal's presence, and up-to-date vaccinations.
A Man Passes Urine on an Old Lady
A man peed on an elderly co-passenger while flying on Air India to New York. The crew members ignored his behaviour until the man urinated on an old woman while drunk. The crew member who was ignorant was de-rostered, and the man was arrested and given a flying ban. Air India was fined for this incident.
Unknown Odor Causing Seriousness
A "unknown odor" from the cockpit of a JetBlue flight from California to Florida caused passengers to choke and cough. The aircraft had to make an emergency landing in Oklahoma City. Three crew members and two passengers were taken to the hospital, while a number of other people required oxygen. The cause of the unpleasant smell was not discovered.
An Adult Diaper
On a flight from Panama City to Tampa in October 2023, Copa Airlines received a tip regarding a suspicious object in the restroom. Authorities searched the area for explosives while the plane was landed back in Panama. But after a careful examination, it was found that the "suspected" item was actually an adult diaper that had been tightly wrapped, making identification impossible.
