Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is a video game where you play as defense attorneys Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Athena Cykes. Set in a time of false charges and fabricated evidence, caused by Phoenix being unfairly disbarred, you'll defend clients and restore trust in the courts. Gameplay involves investigating for evidence and talking to witnesses, then finding inconsistencies during trials. Each attorney has unique abilities: Phoenix can see hidden truths, Apollo spots visual cues of deception, and Athena detects conflicting emotions in witnesses' voices.
The game was developed and published by Capcom, originally released for Nintendo 3DS in 2013, and later for iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. The team aimed to make a big impact with this installment, focusing on reviving the trial system. They utilized 3D graphics while preserving the look of earlier games, with localization integrated into development. Critics praised the audio, visuals, and characters, though some criticized the game for not always accepting logical input during trials. Despite this, it achieved high sales compared to previous games in the franchise.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies Gameplay
In Dual Destinies, players control three defense attorneys: Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Athena Cykes. They aim to solve cases and prove their clients innocent.
The game has two main parts: investigations and trials. During investigations, players search for evidence at crime scenes, talk to witnesses, present evidence, and move between locations. Apollo's "perceive" ability helps spot lies visually, while Phoenix's "psyche-lock" reveals hidden truths.
In trials, players cross-examine witnesses, pressing for more information and presenting evidence to expose contradictions. Incorrect evidence lowers the judge's confidence, risking game over. Athena's "mood matrix" detects conflicting emotions in testimonies, helping uncover the truth. Towards the end, players use "revisualization" to make deductions and reach conclusions.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies Plot
Dual Destinies is set a year after the events of the previous game, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. The legal system is in trouble, with false charges and fake evidence becoming common. Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney, regains his badge and hires Athena Cykes, a young lawyer with a talent for psychology, to join his agency alongside Apollo Justice.
Under the supervision of Detective Bobby Fulbright, Phoenix, Apollo, and Athena handle several cases. They defend Mayor Damien Tenma, accused of murdering Alderman Rex Kyubi, and expose the real killer as Tenma's assistant, Florent L'Belle. Later, Athena defends her friend Juniper Woods, accused of murdering her teacher, and reveals the true culprit to be another teacher named Aristotle Means.
After a bombing at a space center, Apollo's friend Clay Terran is found dead, leading to Athena and Apollo defending an astronaut named Solomon Starbuck. During the trial, a bomb goes off, injuring Apollo, but they expose the real bomber as bomb squad specialist Ted Tonate. Feeling personally invested, Apollo investigates further, while Phoenix takes over Solomon's case, proving his innocence. However, new evidence implicates Athena in Clay's murder, leading to her arrest.
Phoenix digs into an incident from seven years ago when Athena's mother was killed, leading to Blackquill's conviction. With one day until Blackquill's execution, his sister takes hostages, demanding a retrial. With help from Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix proves Athena's and Blackquill's innocence, revealing the true culprit to be the Phantom, an international spy disguised as Fulbright. With the help of the team, Phoenix exposes the Phantom, bringing an end to the Dark Age of the law.
