Afterimage
Afterimage is an action and adventure game. This indie game was developed by Aurogon Shanghai and is scheduled to be released on April 26, 2023. Modus Games has published this game. In the Afterimage game, the player has to reveal the hidden secrets of a fantasy land. The player must search for the magnificent landscapes and disintegration of an ancient metropolis, facing mysterious colossal beings and roaming spirits along the path they travel.
Afterimage Release Date
It’s good news for Steam players, as Aurogon Shanghai and Modus Games have announced the Afterimage will be released in April 2023. Afterimage will contain both aesthetic and deep RPG elements. It will have a Metroidvania-like world to make players face numerous challenges. With no delay, Afterimage is set to release on April 25, 2023. This adventurous game will launch on PC through PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Afterimage Game Review
The game is straightforward and elegant to look at, and its surroundings are bursting with soft colors and vivid backdrops that make searching every single area a joy. Tree branches that form ways, wonderful fields of flowers, caved-in windmills, and dusty libraries frame those familiar Metroidvania level staples to see the freshness. A few spots, such as the Rainbow Plains and the Desert, were much more sparse with the platforming, which assists the players with movement in the game and allows the opponent to stop them in their tracks. But the interior areas with puzzles and rewards to discover seem to be more interesting.
Afterimage Gameplay
Afterimage provides hand-drawn art designs, providing the game scenes with atmosphere and immersion. For instance, there is a beautiful plain in the early part of the demo. In the foreground, there are flowers, while the background contains a reduced depth of field to make the scene feel vast. Besides the calm music, the players could feel like they were standing on a peaceful grassy plain. The protagonist needs to defeat the bosses to gain abilities such as dash or slide. The game contains a leveling system and skill trees like many action RPGs. It also contains a character equipment system. In the later part of the demo, which includes the players identifying several abilities and skills, there are a few special weapon combo moves. The gameplay starts to shine when players are able to develop their own combat styles and fight against tougher enemies.

Afterimage Features
As the first Metroidvania game developed by Aurogon, the game’s management of the controls and level design still contains room for improvement. Some of the early platforming is complex, and failure leads to the player being sent to a checkpoint a ways back. Afterimage offers exceptional, simple art designs that give the game scene atmosphere and immersion. The player could see the marvelous grass plain. A few players discover it's unwantedly punishing in the early game, and it can take 30 minutes or more before players can unlock more than just the simple jump and melee actions.
Afterimage Weapons
Afterimage gives the player an arsenal of weapons or magic spells to identify as they explore the semi-open world. The weapons are classified into two groups: main and sub-weapons. Each main weapon has a unique set of special attacks, which you can advance using the talent tree. Sub-weapons differ in function and also provide you with different extra bonuses. You can identify the weapons in chests or from merchants. You could also access them by defeating bosses or completing searches. You must select your weapon and equip yourself with talents and skills to become Engardin’s most fearless warrior.
