In the "Room 665" chapter of Alan Wake 2, the Oceanview Hotel presents a significant challenge. To successfully navigate this section, follow these steps:

Entering the Oceanview Hotel:

• At the start of the "Room 665" chapter, Alan's objective is to meet an ally in the Dark Place at the Oceanview Hotel.
• Initially, entering the hotel through the front door leads to a loop, sending Alan back out without progress.
• To find an alternative entrance, head to the alley at the intersection of Caldera Street and Ocean Avenue. Solve some minor Angel Lamp puzzles to reach a Cocktail Bar near a side entrance. The entrance code is "2250," the price of the hotel's signature cocktail.

Navigating the Oceanview Hotel:

• Upon entering the hotel, Alan encounters Thomas Zane and views a cutscene. Afterward, find an Echo near the elevator and return to the main floor.

Completing Scenes and Puzzles:

• The Entrance Hall starts the first scene. Go behind the receptionist’s desk to find another Echo and activate the Pre-Show Ritual option. This unlocks the Break Room and expands the floor to explore.
• Follow the hallways to the Final Scene. Use the Pre-Show Ritual option to find a box with a note and a key to Room 104. Use this key to reach the Break Room on the second floor.
• Access the Rehearsal Room scene through Room 219. Absorb light with the Angel Lamp to unlock a new hallway to Room 202. Utilize the Pre-Show Ritual plot point to discover an Echo and a new plot point for the entire location: Haunted.
• Head to the end of the second floor’s main hallways to find the Ballroom. Activate the Haunted plot point to access an Echo on the stage. Defeat enemies and receive the plot point: The Devil.
• Return to the Entrance Hall and apply The Devil to open the staircase to the top floor. Be prepared for a battle as enemies are unleashed. Proceed to the sixth floor and reach Room 666.

Final Moments in Room 666:

• In Room 666, you'll find an inscription on the floor and an Echo into absolute darkness. This offers the final plot point of the hotel section, Climax.

Escaping the Dark Presence:

• As the Dark Presence emerges, run towards the light of the Break Room to escape.

Concluding the Chapter:

• Head back to the Entrance Hall. Change the scene to Climax to access a final Echo. Move to the Final Scene and switch it to Climax as well. This opens Room 108, concluding the chapter with a discussion with Saga Anderson.

In the Kalevala Workshop section, Alan encounters a cryptic padlock. Following clues from emails on a computer, Alan discovers the code on a giant coffee cup with a smiley face. The correct combination for the padlock is input from top to bottom:

• Upward-facing triangle stacked on top of a downward-facing triangle.
• Hourglass angled from top left to bottom right.
• Vertical hourglass.

This solution allows Alan to unlock the door in the Kalevala Workshop and progress in the game.

In Alan Wake II, the gameplay is different from the first game. It's a survival horror game where you see the character from the outside, not from their view. You can play as either Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in two separate stories. You can choose which story to play first, but some parts can only be played as Saga or as Alan.

Both characters move through different places and fight enemies using guns and a flashlight. Shining the flashlight on enemies weakens them, but it uses up the battery.
