Alan Wake 2 Return 6 Scratch Walkthrough

In "Alan Wake 2: Return 6 - Scratch," players need to find Alan and give him the Clicker before it's too late. This walkthrough will guide you through the mission, but be aware that it contains spoilers.

Visit Sheriff's Station:

  • Start by going through the forest and leaving Elderwood Palace Lodge to return to Bright Falls.
  • The Sheriff's Station entrance is on Main Street, but things look wrong as the power is out, and the station seems abandoned.
  • You'll find a wounded FBC agent hiding in a closet. Search the area, eliminate the lurking Taken, and pick up the Sheriff's Station map.
  • Talk to Estevez to learn more about the situation and find out where Alan is, but you can't access him while the power is out.

Get the Power Back On:

  • Use the key to open the Sheriff's Office and obtain the Pump Action Shotgun by entering the code 723.
  • Head to the basement through the Conference Room, and look for a gate that can be opened with Boltcutters. There's a cult stash here with the code 146.
  • Continue south to advance the story, talk to Casey, and get a fuse for the fusebox, which is in the same room.
  • Get ready for a fight as several Taken come rushing into the basement.

Strategies to Defeat Scratch:

  • Return to the first floor and check in with Estevez, then head toward the holding cells where Alan is.
  • Talk to Alan to trigger a cutscene, and you'll soon face Scratch.
  • Scratch has a dark shield that can't be burned, but you can damage him. Look for glowing boxes around the arena.
  • Shoot Scratch until he stops moving, then run to one of the boxes, activate it, and shoot Scratch to stun him. Repeat this for all boxes.
  • When all boxes are activated, a cutscene will trigger, ending the current chapter.

Alan Wake 2 Gameplay

In "Alan Wake 2," players experience a survival horror adventure played from a third-person perspective. Unlike the first game, which combined action and horror, this sequel focuses entirely on the horror aspect.

Players can choose to play as either Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in separate single-player stories. These stories can be played in any order, except for the opening and ending sequences, which are specific to Saga and Alan respectively. During the game, players explore different environments and combat enemies using firearms and a flashlight. The flashlight can be focused to make enemies vulnerable to gunfire, but it uses battery power, so players must use it strategically.

Players need to manage their limited supply of batteries and ammunition to survive. When enemies get too close, Alan or Saga can perform a dodge maneuver to evade attacks.

A new addition to the gameplay is the "Mind Place," which players can access when controlling Saga. This space allows players to pause the game and access a visual representation of Saga's thoughts. Here, players can manage a pin board to connect clues and solve the main mystery. Additionally, players can profile characters and gather clues within the Mind Place.

The game also features manuscript pages that foreshadow upcoming events in the story, a returning element from the first game. Unlike its predecessor, "Alan Wake 2" includes a dialogue tree system, adding depth to the player's interactions within the game.
