Alan Wake 2 Return 7 Summoning Walkthrough

In "Alan Wake 2," the Return 7: Summoning chapter marks the beginning of the end for the game's storyline. Players find themselves facing the final boss as they progress through this intense chapter.

Preparation:

Before diving into this chapter, it's essential to save your progress either in the basement or at the new save point located in the room with Casey and Estevez. Talking to both Casey and Estevez is crucial, as Estevez provides you with a key to access important information about Cauldron Lake held by the FBC (Federal Bureau of Control). Head back to the holding cell containing FBC equipment. Here, you should go through each document to uncover clues that you can place on the Case Board.

Once you've placed the evidence, a new profiling option for Tor becomes available. Return to Estevez and inquire about the Clicker to receive additional evidence for the Case Board, which unlocks another profiling option for Tor. With this new evidence, you'll have new dialogue options when speaking to Estevez. After completing these steps, head to the car and select Cauldron Lake to officially begin the final chapters of "Alan Wake 2."

Get to the Lake Shore:

Unfortunately, a shortcut that could have led you to the Lake Shore quickly is blocked off. This leaves you with no option but to take the long and dangerous route. Along the way, you'll be attacked by the Taken. Since you've already traversed this area before, there won't be much to discover. Make sure to loot nearby supplies as you head towards Cauldron Lake to prepare for the final battle.

Survive the Summoning:

In this section, players must survive waves of Taken as the Old Gods of Asgard perform a concert to pull Alan out of the Dark Place. You'll face numerous Taken, so keep moving and dodge their attacks. Move towards active flares to conserve your batteries. Continue this until a cutscene triggers, and the game switches back to Alan.

Enter Parliament Tower:

As in previous chapters, enter Parliament Tower and go into the apartment, initiating "Initiation 9: Gone." The apartment appears eerily empty this time. You'll encounter a door with a spiral symbol that can't be opened but provides a jump scare. Proceed into the next room and interact with the projector screen to trigger a live-action cutscene, marking the end of this brief chapter and the beginning of the final battle.

How to Beat Alan?

In an unexpected twist, players must confront Alan Wake, who's been overtaken by the Dark Presence's power. To stop him, you need to seal him away. Unleash as much damage as you can on him to stun him. While he's recovering, rotate the two lights so that they fully point at the containment cell. This may take a while, and Alan may interrupt you several times before you can align the lights. Once both lights are in position, rush into the cell to initiate a cutscene.

Talk to Agent Estevez:

The story isn't over yet. At this point, players resume control over Alan. Find Agent Estevez and engage in a conversation with her. When she offers you weapons, take them and also loot the box she stands next to. To advance the story, head under the tree next to Agent Estevez. There's no map for this section, so you'll have to navigate by sight as you encounter several Taken along the way. Ammo is limited, so make every shot count. Fortunately, the shortcut leading to the parking lot is open this time. When approaching the car, you have only one option, which is to go to Bright Falls and embark on the final chapters of "Alan Wake 2."

Alan Wake 2 Return 7 Summoning

In the seventh chapter of Saga Anderson's journey in Alan Wake 2, titled "Summoning," Saga, along with Alex Casey, Kiran Estevez, and the Anderson Brothers, ventures back to Cauldron Lake with a mission to summon Alan Wake from the mysterious Dark Place. Saga, expressing her readiness to attempt the summoning, contacts the Anderson Brothers on her way to Cauldron Lake. She asks them to create a song that could bring Alan back. Meanwhile, she also calls her husband, David, who responds angrily and blames her for the death of Logan.

Upon reaching Cauldron Lake, Saga witnesses Kiran and Alex Casey preparing supplies for defense from a helicopter, and the Anderson Brothers setting up on the Valhalla Nursing Home van. The Anderson Brothers start performing a song called "Dark Ocean Summoning," drawing the attention of numerous Taken. Saga, along with Kiran and Casey, bravely fights off the menacing creatures.

As the Overlap begins to open, Saga, holding the Clicker, approaches it and pushes. In a surprising turn of events, Alan seems to appear on the shoreline, only for reality to flicker, and he vanishes. Saga realizes that Alan was summoned a few days in the past, where she originally found him at the end of Return 2: The Heart. She also comes to the revelation that Alan and Scratch are the same person.

Subsequently, Scratch arrives at the lake, leading to a confrontation with Saga. The lights are turned toward the cage as Saga fights Scratch. Inside the cage, Estevez boosts the lights, causing Scratch and the cage to explode. Free from Scratch's possession, Alan apologizes for the chaos. Casey, now possessed by Scratch, snatches the Clicker from Saga, throws her into the lake, and disappears into the night. In a twist, Scratch appears in Bright Falls and activates the Clicker, altering reality to cancel Deerfest. The Clicker falls through reality, caught by an unknown hand, leaving a mysterious and intriguing ending to the chapter.
