Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare III, released on November 10, 2023, is a first-person shooter developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. The game is the twentieth installment in the Call of Duty series, serving as a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II. Available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, the realistic modern setting follows Task Force 141 as they track down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist planning global chaos.

The multiplayer includes remastered maps from Modern Warfare II, and a new open-world Zombies mode makes its debut. Initially conceived as an expansion, it evolved into a standalone title. The game utilizes the IW 9.0 engine, with collaboration from Treyarch on the Zombies mode. The release was officially revealed in August 2023, featuring a showcase event and public beta in October. Some platforms consider it a DLC expansion, lacking a Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5

Modern Warfare 3 Game Trailer

Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay

"Modern Warfare III (MW3) delivers gameplay reminiscent of its predecessor, Modern Warfare II, and other Call of Duty titles. The single-player campaign offers a dynamic experience with a mix of linear and open-world missions called 'Open Combat Missions.' These missions grant players the freedom to choose their approach, whether opting for open combat or employing stealth and ambush tactics.

The addition of an on-screen map, including a tactical map outlining objectives and equipment locations, enhances player navigation. In multiplayer, players can enjoy all sixteen maps from Modern Warfare II, with the ability to vote for maps in matchmade lobbies. Notably, the beloved 'red dot' minimap returns, allowing players to track enemies when firing unsuppressed weapons.

Classic game modes like 'Kill Confirmed' and 'Hardpoint' make a comeback, along with the new 'Cutthroat' mode, where three teams of three players compete. The multiplayer experience includes a moderation system powered by artificial intelligence to address toxic behavior in real-time. Post-launch plans include the release of at least twelve new 6v6 multiplayer maps and the periodic addition of fan-favorite Modern Warfare II maps.

Moreover, MW3 introduces an innovative open-world PvE Zombies mode developed in collaboration with Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. In this mode, up to 24 players form separate squads in a large-sized map, simultaneously facing zombies and AI-controlled human enemies. Unlike traditional round-based survival, the game adopts a 'zones' system, with varying difficulty levels.

Players can complete objectives, collect loot, and engage in story quests that progress the narrative. The mode also features an intriguing mechanic called the 'Aether Storm,' which begins after 45 minutes of in-match time, creating a 15-minute window for players to extract with their loot. Core elements from previous Zombies modes, such as weapon wallbuys, Perk-a-Cola drinks, and the Mystery Box, make a return, contributing to a rich and immersive gaming experience."
