Apex Legends

Apex Legends is an online video game created by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It is a battle royale-hero shooter game that is free-to-play and supports cross-platform play. It was initially released in February 2019 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, followed by Nintendo Switch in March 2021, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022. The mobile version, Apex Legends Mobile, was released for Android and iOS devices in May 2022. Before each match, players form squads of two or three and choose from a selection of Legends, pre-designed characters that possess unique abilities. The game has two modes: Battle Royale and Arenas. In Battle Royale, teams of up to 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos parachute onto an island and search for weapons and supplies to eliminate all other players in combat. The island's available playing area shrinks over time, forcing players to keep moving and avoid being caught outside of the play area. The final surviving team wins the round. In Arenas, three-player squads compete against each other in a 3v3 team deathmatch to win a series of rounds. A team wins when they have a minimum of three points and are two points ahead of the opposing team.

Apex Legends is set in the same science fiction universe as Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall series, and some characters from Titanfall appear in the game either as minor characters or playable Legends. The game's development started in late 2016, but it was kept under wraps until its release. Its 2019 release was a surprise, as it was assumed that Respawn Entertainment was working on a third installment of the Titanfall series, the studio's previous major game. Apex Legends received positive reviews from critics, who praised its gameplay, progression system, and incorporation of elements from different genres. It was considered a worthy competitor to other battle royale games. By the end of its first week, the game had over 25 million players, and by its first month, it had over 50 million. As of April 2021, it had approximately 100 million players, making it one of the most-played video games of all time in terms of player count.

Apex Legends Sun Squad Collection Event

Apex Legends has introduced the Sun Squad Collection event, which includes a brand-new limited-time mode called Heatwave. The event also includes 24 limited-time cosmetics, featuring Legendary skins for popular characters like Ash, Mirage, and Fuse. In addition, players who manage to unlock all 24 items before the end of the event will receive Ash’s “Strongest Link” Heirloom. Heatwave is a limited-time mode that adds a new twist to the standard Trio’s mode. Players must be aware of Heatwaves that occur periodically throughout the match, which can cause damage from the sun. To avoid this, players can take cover indoors or under objects. If caught in the open, sliding can help cool players down and avoid Heatwave damage while on the move. Heatshields have also increased in size and can now protect players in a larger area from the sun. However, Heatshields will be destroyed quickly if deployed outside of the Ring.

Players should keep an eye out for Care Packages as they may contain items to help mitigate the effects of the sun. The Heatwave mode is available starting March 28th and will provide players with a unique gameplay experience. In addition to the new mode, the Sun Squad Collection event offers players the chance to unlock 24 limited-time cosmetics. Players can use Apex Coins or Crafting Metals to unlock these items or purchase Sun Squad Collection Event Apex Packs. Those who manage to unlock all 24 items before the end of the event will receive Ash’s “Strongest Link” Heirloom. Players can also earn up to 1,600 points per day through daily challenges, which stack with their Battle Pass progress. The Store tab also offers limited-time offers, including bundles like the Sub-Mirage or the Shoreline Savior Bundles available from March 28th to April 11th. Weekly offers like Bangalore’s Bring The Pain Bundle, available from March 31st to April 4th, or Lifeline’s Breach and Clear Bundle, available from April 4th to April 11th, are also available. Overall, the Sun Squad Collection event offers Apex Legends players the chance to experience a unique limited-time mode and unlock new cosmetics for their favorite characters. With daily challenges and limited-time offers available in the Store tab, there’s plenty of content for players to enjoy during the event’s two-week duration.
