Apple TV is one of the most popular digital media players. Apple Inc. developed and marketed Apple TV as a small network appliance hardware as video and audio to a television set or external display.  This is the Digital media player and the micro-console type, and its first generation was released on 9th January 2007, 16 years ago. The Apple Remote was introduced on October 2005 by Apple Inc. for use with several of its products with infrared capability. The first three generations of Apple TV used the Apple Remote as their primary control mechanism. It has now been replaced with the Siri Remote in the fourth generation. Before the Apple Remote, Apple produced several nameless IR remotes for products such as the Macintosh TV, TV tuner expansion boards, and the powered drive.

Playing shows or selecting apps can be impossible if your Apple TV remote/Siri Remote isn’t working correctly. If you have a newer Apple TV remote called a “Siri Remote,” use the Lightning connector on the bottom edge of the remote and a Lightning-to-USB cable to plug into a power source such as a Mac. Let it charge for 30 minutes. And then again try after 30 minutes, try using the remote again. Instead, replace the coin cell battery at the bottom of the unit. If Apple TV remote still isn’t working, try restarting your Apple TV. Unplug your Apple TV from the power outlet, wait 15 seconds, and then wait for the home screen to appear, then see if your remote works, as per howtogeek. 

Apple Tv Not Working 

First try these steps,

• Stay within 20 feet of your Apple TV. 
• Now charge your remote for 30 minutes and use a USB-C to USB or Lightning to USB cable and a USB wall charger.
• Now Unplug your Apple TV  wait at least six seconds, then plug it back in. 
• Press and hold the buttons down for about 5 seconds
• Now Release the buttons and wait 5 to 10 seconds for a Connection Lost notification to appear on your TV screen.
• Wait while your remote restarts. When the Connected notification appears, you can use your remote.

How To Fix Apple Tv Remote Not Working?           

Reset the Apple TV app

• Open the  Apple TV app, and then navigate to Settings.
• Now Go to Reset, then select Reset.
• Resetting the Apple TV app restores it to its original settings and removes your personal information, TV shows, and movies from the smart TV.

Pair your remote    

• Point your remote at your Apple TV, and Make sure that the remote is about three inches from your Apple TV. 
• Now Press and hold Back and Volume Up for five seconds.
• Place your remote on the Apple TV to complete pairing if asked.
