Arknights puts all its characters into eight groups: Medic, Sniper, Vanguard, Guard, Specialist, Caster, Defender, and Supporter. Each group has its own special job during battles.

Arknights
Arknights, also known as Míngrì Fāngzhōu in Chinese, is a tactical RPG and tower defense mobile game created by Hypergryph. This free-to-play game was first launched in China on May 1, 2019, followed by a global release on January 16, 2020, and a release in Taiwan on June 29, 2020.
Accessible on Android and iOS platforms, Arknights incorporates gacha game mechanics, where players can obtain characters and items through a virtual capsule-toy vending machine.
The game's popularity led to the announcement of a spin-off called Arknights: Endfield, designed for both Microsoft Windows and mobile devices in March 2022. In addition to the interactive game, Arknights expanded its universe with an anime television series produced by Yostar Pictures, airing from October to December 2022.
Following the success of the first season, a second season titled Arknights: Perish in Frost debuted in October 2023. Arknights Gameplay
Arknights is a tower defense game where players strategically place characters, known as "operators," to prevent enemies from infiltrating their base. Melee operators block enemies, while ranged operators deal damage or provide support.
The game's core resembles a puzzle, especially at higher difficulties, requiring tactical analysis and foresight rather than quick reactions. As players progress, they unlock new stages, operators, and resources, encountering different enemy types and mechanics. Cleared levels with a three-star rating can be auto-completed based on recorded player actions.
Arknights includes a base-building aspect, allowing players to construct facilities and assign operators. This contributes to resource accumulation in an incremental game fashion. The game incorporates free-to-play mechanics, such as daily rewards and gacha elements for character acquisition through virtual currency or optional real-money purchases.

Arknights Plot
In the game's world, Terra, a place struck by natural disasters, faces a dystopian future with kemonomimi features, where people display animal or mythical race characteristics. The planet is grappling with a progressive and fatal disease called oripathy, caused by the valuable mineral originium left behind by these disasters.
Interestingly, originalism also grants the infected the ability to use "Arts," a form of magic. Oripathy, despite its magical perks, leads to social rejection and persecution due to its highly infectious nature. This prompts some infected individuals to form the Reunion movement, a militant group fighting against Terra's despotic governments.
The player assumes the role of the "Doctor," a masked and amnesiac character, in charge of Rhodes Island—a pharmaceutical, medical, and self-defense organization. As Oripathy spreads, Rhodes Island seeks a cure while simultaneously defending itself against the Reunion and various governments on Terra.
The game unfolds as the Doctor navigates this post-apocalyptic world, managing a team of operators and confronting the challenges posed by infectious disease, magical abilities, and political unrest in Terra.
