FULL SYNCHRONIZATION CHALLENGE
Do you think you've experienced everything Assassin's Creed Mirage has to offer? Our newest game mode Full Synchronization Challenge (a.k.a. permadeath) is the ultimate test of your assassin skills.
When enabled, Basim will desynchronize from the animus if he dies, or if he commits illegal actions (e.g. killing citizens, going outside of authorized map locations).
When Basim desynchronizes from the animus, instead of the usual desynchronized reload screen, a new display appears showing statistics of gameplay time, total amount of conflicts, cause of the death, number of enemies killed, assassin rank and difficulty chosen to play.
There are no second chances - your save file will be permanently deleted, so perfect your skills to keep Basim alive!

Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Assassin's Creed Mirage, developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft in 2023, marks the thirteenth major installment in the series, succeeding Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The game, set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age, follows Basim Ibn Ishaq, a former street thief turned Hidden One, as he battles the Order of the Ancients for peace and liberty.
Originally conceived as a Valhalla expansion, Mirage became a standalone title with an expanded scope. Ubisoft Bordeaux, the primary developer, aimed to return to the series' roots, prioritizing stealth, parkour, and assassinations over recent role-playing elements. The game, smaller in scale, combines features from both recent and earlier Assassin's Creed titles.
Mirage's narrative explores Basim's internal struggle, torn between Hidden One duties and unraveling his mysterious past. Released on multiple platforms in October 2023, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, the game received positive reviews for its world design, stealth focus, and a return to the franchise's roots.
Some critics highlighted concerns with characters and the story's reliance on previous series installments. A mobile version is scheduled for iOS on iPhone 15 Pro models in early 2024.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gameplay
Assassin's Creed Mirage is an action-adventure stealth game that harkens back to earlier titles in the series, emphasizing a linear narrative with reduced role-playing elements. Core gameplay focuses on parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth.
The "Black Box" design for assassination missions, introduced in Unity and Syndicate, returns, requiring players to explore the environment for diverse ways to eliminate targets.
Set primarily in Baghdad with its distinct districts like the Round City and Karkh, Mirage also includes smaller towns like Anbar. The Hidden Ones' fortress, Alamut, plays a role in the storyline. Baghdad is more compact compared to recent Assassin's Creed worlds.
The main character, Basim, wields an extensive arsenal, featuring the iconic Hidden Blade, smoke bombs, throwing knives, and poison darts. Upgrades via a skill tree enhance both weapons and tools.
Basim has Eagle Vision and a scouting companion, Enkidu, an eastern imperial eagle. Unlike past games, Enkidu can be targeted by enemy marksmen, necessitating their elimination before reuse.
A new "Assassin Focus" ability allows Basim to eliminate multiple enemies simultaneously, recharged through stealth assassinations. Time stops during activation, enabling the marking and rapid killing of up to five enemies.
Additionally, new pole features aid in traversing wide gaps, and refined animations enhance overall mobility, drawing inspiration from samurai, ninja, and Jedi styles.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Plot
In the aftermath of Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter, the modern-day Assassins delve into Basim Ibn Ishaq's memories, set in the Abbasid Caliphate era. Basim, a former street thief haunted by visions, aspires to join the Hidden Ones.
After stealing a vital artifact and inadvertently causing the Caliph's death, Basim faces persecution, leading to a rift with Nehal, his childhood friend. Seeking refuge with the Hidden Ones, Basim trains under Roshan and uncovers the Order of the Ancients' influence in Baghdad.
He confronts and eliminates key Order members while reuniting with Nehal, who questions the Hidden Ones' motives. As Basim investigates further, he discovers a hidden Isu temple beneath Alamut, leading to a conflict with Roshan. Despite the clash, Basim embraces his true identity as Loki, realizing Nehal and the jinni were manifestations of repressed memories.
Fusing with Nehal, Basim regains his memories and rejoins the Hidden Ones, prompting Roshan's resignation. Fully aware of his past, Basim anticipates a reunion with those responsible for his imprisonment, marking a new chapter in his existence.
