Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are a baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. They play in Major League Baseball's National League East division. The team has a long history, originally founded in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings before becoming the Boston Braves in 1912. They are considered the oldest continuously operating professional sports franchise in the United States.

Over the years, the Braves moved from Boston to Milwaukee in 1953 and finally settled in Atlanta in 1966. While in Milwaukee, they won the World Series in 1957 with star players like Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, and Warren Spahn. The Braves achieved their greatest success in Atlanta from 1991 to 2005, winning 14 consecutive division titles and making eight consecutive National League Championship Series appearances.

They had a remarkable pitching rotation featuring Hall of Famers Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, and Tom Glavine. In total, the Braves have won 23 divisional titles, 18 National League pennants, and four World Series championships. They are unique in winning the World Series in three different cities.
