Atlas Fallen Gameplay

Atlas Fallen is a third-person action role-playing video game that starts with players creating and customising their own avatar. This character wields an ancient gauntlet capable of transforming sand into weapons. While players can wield three different weapons, they can only carry two at a time. The gameplay of Atlas Fallen focuses on action, requiring players to skillfully dodge, counter, and block incoming attacks. The combat seamlessly shifts between ground and aerial battles.

Engaging enemies grants players momentum, which becomes vital for gameplay dynamics. Upon reaching a specific momentum level, the player's weapon transforms, enabling the use of special abilities that deal significant damage to foes.

The game is set in an expansive open world composed of distinct regions for exploration. Throughout their journey, players will encounter various non-playable characters and engage in side quests and activities. Movement plays a pivotal role in the game's exploration. Utilizing the gauntlet, players can glide over the desert landscape, and abilities like air dashing enable versatile movement. The gauntlet's functionality also extends to revealing hidden areas by raising buried objects, unveiling new pathways.

As players advance, they discover "Shards" and "Catalyst Pieces," which further enhance the gauntlet's combat prowess. Additionally, Atlas Fallen offers a cooperative multiplayer mode for two players to team up and experience the game together.

Classes in "Atlas Fallen"

Atlas Fallen offers a variety of classes, each tailored to distinct playstyles, enriching the gaming experience. Here, we outline the available classes within the game:

Warrior:

This class excels in close-quarters combat, boasting formidable health and defensive capabilities. Warriors wield heavy weaponry, such as swords and axes, enabling them to deliver substantial damage to adversaries.

Mage:

Specializing in the arcane arts, the Mage class possesses heightened intelligence and mana reserves. Mages harness the power of spells that inflict elemental harm, encompassing fire and ice. Additionally, they possess the ability to mend themselves and allies.

Rogue:

Adept in stealth tactics, the Rogue class boasts remarkable agility and a heightened likelihood of landing critical hits. Employing ranged weaponry, like bows and crossbows, Rogues engage foes from a distance. Furthermore, they can execute sneak assaults and employ traps strategically.

Hybrid Classes:

Players have the opportunity to forge hybrid classes by amalgamating distinct skills and abilities from the three primary classes. As an illustration, players can craft a battlemage by combining attributes from the warrior and mage skill sets. Alternatively, they can conjure a ranger amalgamating rogue and warrior skills.

At the onset of the game, players make a pivotal choice in selecting their class. Furthermore, the ability to personalise one's character's visage and equipment is at hand. Each class encompasses its own unique proficiencies and gameplay style, lending strategic advantages in tackling the diverse challenges that the game presents.

Atlas Fallen Reviews

The review discusses the game "Atlas Fallen." It is praised for its Prince of Persia-inspired open-world RPG elements, including vast zones, exciting monster battles, and co-op gameplay.

The reviewer enjoys exploring its four unique areas, each with distinct characteristics, and emphasizes the fun of seamless online co-op with friends. However, the story is criticized for being campy and lacking depth, with unenthusiastic voice acting and poorly synced lip movements in cutscenes. The characters are described as generic and lacking personality.

The review highlights the joy of co-op adventuring, completing side quests, and finding hidden treasures. The game's questing system allows for completing tasks separately while sharing rewards, promoting exploration. Despite some missed opportunities, like the absence of couch co-op and cross-play, the game's open-world design is praised for offering ongoing excitement.

The gameplay mechanics involve sand-themed combat and customization. The combat system is described as dynamic, offering simple but engaging battles with gradually increasing power as hits land. The reviewer notes various movement styles based on equipped weapons, adding variety to combat encounters. The Momentum Gauge system, which rewards successful hits and parries, contributes to character customization and ability crafting.

Visuals receive mixed feedback, with some zones praised for their beauty but animations and visual quality criticized. While the game performs well on the PS5, graphics are noted to suffer from compressed textures and low-quality models, particularly in contrast to its detailed armor designs. The game's appearance on PC is said to be clearer but still having some issues with character models.
