These AC builds cater to various playstyles, from early-game efficiency to end-game domination, providing players with diverse options for their Armored Core 6 journey.

Armored Core 6 Gameplay

Armored Core VI offers immersive mecha-centric vehicular combat gameplay, casting players as skilled pilots controlling formidable Armored Cores. These mechs can be extensively customized with diverse parts, enabling players to refine and amplify their capabilities.

A remarkable feature is the array of weapons players can equip on their mechs, with slots on each arm and two on the mech's back. This variety empowers players with strategic choices during battles.

The arena concept, seen in previous titles, returns through the "combat aptitude evaluation program," allowing players to test their skills against others. Missions completed successfully earn in-game credits, which vary based on achieved objectives, without the past debt system's penalization for failed missions

Unlike prior games, Armored Core VI eliminates the debt system, granting players unlimited attempts at missions without the fear of losing currency.

Armored Core 6 Plot

Armored Core VI unfolds in a futuristic era where humanity has achieved an interstellar society. The narrative centers on the planet Rubicon 3, situated on the frontier. Here, a versatile substance named Coral is uncovered, capable of functioning as an energy source and data conduit. Initially celebrated as a boon for technological progress, Coral triggers a catastrophic event known as the Fires of Ibis.

This event engulfs the planet and its neighboring star system in destructive flames, leaving behind hazardous contamination. Despite the belief that all Coral was eradicated, traces resurface on Rubicon 3 five decades later.

Driven by corporate interests, corporations rush to exploit the Coral's potential, disregarding the inhabitants' well-being. This sets off conflicts, with mercenaries capitalizing on the chaos. The player embodies "C4-621," an augmented human under the command of infamous handler Walter. Operating as an Armored Core pilot, the protagonist tackles mercenary tasks, aiming for a fresh start. Upon landing illicitly on Rubicon 3, C4-621 assumes the identity of a fallen mercenary, adopting the callsign "Raven."

Armored Core 6 Development

In September 2016, FromSoftware's President Hidetaka Miyazaki hinted at an early-stage development of a new Armored Core installment. A leak in January 2022 revealed ongoing work on the series, confirmed through a focus test. The official announcement came at The Game Awards 2022 in December.

Masaru Yamamura, previously a lead game designer on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, directed Armored Core VI, succeeding Miyazaki. The project's resources were carefully managed, leading to a delayed development start desired by the team. In 2018, prototyping commenced, with Yamamura taking the reins as director once gameplay was solidified.

Kota Hoshino, the lead composer, crafted the game's music. Yamamura provided keywords to set the desired atmosphere—imbued with solitude and nostalgia. Hoshino's compositions, guided by the keywords, evolved to match the game's progression. Takashi Onodera and Shoi Miyazawa contributed additional music during the development process.
