Reports suggest that BTS' agency, Hybe, and the Seoul metropolitan government are in discussions to organize joint events to honor the band's anniversary. One proposed plan is the creation of a special event space called 'ARMY Road' at prominent locations throughout the city. The objective is to not only celebrate BTS but also provide a boost to Seoul's tourism industry, which has suffered due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic, BTS has consistently held commemorative events and festival weeks around their debut day each year. Even during periods when large-scale in-person gatherings were not possible, the group organized expansive online meet-and-greet events that allowed fans from around the world to connect and interact.

When is BTS 10th Anniversary?

Given that this year marks their significant 10th anniversary, similar events are expected to take place, albeit with some adjustments due to the absence of certain members on military duty. An anonymous Hybe official mentioned that detailed plans for the anniversary events will be announced in due course. BTS is preparing to celebrate their 10th anniversary on June 13th with a series of events and surprises in Seoul.

While two members are serving in the military, the remaining members will join in the commemoration. The city officials aim to boost tourism through these events, and BTS' agency is working closely with the Seoul metropolitan government to organize memorable experiences for fans.  Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, BTS has a history of engaging with fans through both online and offline activities, and this year's anniversary celebrations are highly anticipated.

To commemorate their 10th anniversary, the K-pop septet BTS has exciting plans in store. They will be releasing a memoir titled 'Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record of BTS' in both South Korea and the United States. This memoir will provide fans with an in-depth look into the journey and achievements of the band over the past decade.

Beyond The Story 10-Year Record of BTS

A forthcoming biography titled "Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS" is set to be released on July 9, 2023. The book is a collaboration between South Korean journalist Kang Myeong-seok and the members of BTS, translated into English by Anton Hur with the assistance of Clare Richards and Slin Jung.

The U.S. publisher, Flatiron Books, a subsidiary of Macmillan Publishers, initially listed the book as "4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023," describing it as a biography or autobiography spanning 544 pages. Limited information about the book's contents led to fan speculation and discussions on social media platforms.

Some fans noted that the unusual release date falling on a Sunday deviates from the traditional Tuesday release pattern for books. Others speculated that the significant initial print run of 1 million copies and the short gap between announcement and publication suggests involvement from a well-known author.

Swifties, fans of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, speculated that the book might be her memoir due to various perceived connections. Swift often references the number 13 as her lucky number, and fans believed that the book's June 13 announcement date and the page count totaling 544 (which adds up to 13) were intentional hints related to her. Additionally, fans associated the July 9 release date with Swift's song "Last Kiss" from her album "Speak Now."

Rumors gained traction when several U.S. bookstores made social media posts implying Swift's involvement, resulting in a surge of pre-orders. However, Flatiron Books requested the removal of these posts, leading to the cancellation of the pre-orders. Despite the buzz and the book's subsequent rise on bestseller lists of online bookstores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble, an article from Variety published on May 9 denied Swift's authorship.

Simultaneously, speculation arose that the book might actually be about BTS. This theory gained support as June 13, 2023, marks the 10th anniversary of BTS' debut single "No More Dream," and July 9, 2023, marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of BTS' fan group, ARMY.

The New York Times confirmed on May 11, citing Flatiron as the source, that the book is indeed an oral history of BTS, authored by journalist Kang Myeong-seok in collaboration with the BTS members. The book will be translated into English by Anton Hur, along with assistance from Clare Richards and Slin Jung. In South Korea, Big Hit Music, BTS' music label, will publish the book.
