San Luis Obispo County officials gave an update on the search for missing Kyle Doan, who is just 5 years old. Authorities said Monday that dive teams and search crews could explore new areas because of lowering water levels.

Over 100 National Guard troops are now helping search for Kyle, who was swept away by floodwaters in central California some days ago.
According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, the "first wave" of troops came on Wednesday to help with the search as conditions permit. On Thursday, it is said there were about 120 members of the California National Guard helping with the search operations, in addition to the divers and search and rescue teams from the sheriff's offices of San Luis Obispo County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, Sacramento County, Santa Clara County, and Kern County.
