Throughout his career, he has also played for the Los Angeles Angels, Tampa Bay Rays, Minnesota Twins, and Detroit Tigers. Cron is known for his right-handed batting and throwing.
Cron completed his high school education at Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona, graduating in 2008. In the 2008 MLB draft, he was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 44th round but decided to pursue college instead of signing with the team.
