The 57th edition of the prestigious CMT Music Awards took place on April 2, 2023, at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. The event was hosted by Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini and was broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. As the only country music awards show that relies entirely on fan votes, the CMT Music Awards are highly anticipated by fans of the genre. This marks the second ceremony to air on CBS and the fourth for Kane Brown and the third for Kelsea Ballerini. During the event, Ballerini paid tribute to the victims of the tragic 2023 Covenant School shooting.

CMT Music Awards 2023 Date

The 57th CMT Music Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. The live broadcast of the event aired on CBS Television Network from 8-11 pm ET/PT and will also be available on CMT and other Paramount Global networks. The ceremony will be streamed live and available for on-demand viewing on Paramount+. The CMT Music Awards are renowned for their electrifying, cross-genre performances and have been a fixture in the music world since their inception in 2005. Fans can look forward to even more entertainment as the CMT network plans to air an extended version of the awards show on Thursday, April 6, 2023, which will include bonus content and an additional 30 minutes of new performances.

On Wednesday, CMT announced the nominees for the 2023 CMT Music Awards, with Lainey Wilson receiving the most nominations.
