CoD: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone is a popular free-to-play battle royale game released on March 10, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. The game is part of the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and is connected to the 2020 Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War and 2021 Call of Duty: Vanguard, but does not require the purchase of any of these titles. Warzone was developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and published by Activision. The game allows 150 players to engage in online multiplayer combat, with some limited-time modes supporting up to 200 players. Warzone features cross-platform play and cross-platform progression between the three aforementioned titles. At launch, the game had two main modes: Battle Royale and Plunder. It introduces an in-game currency system that can be used at "Buy Stations" to trade for access to players' custom classes, "killstreaks," and gas masks. Cash can be found by looting buildings and killing players. The game originally only offered Trios, but additional squad capacities have been added in post-launch updates. The game received generally favorable reviews from critics and has surpassed 100 million active players. A sequel, titled Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, was released on November 16, 2022, as a free-to-play component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, with a mobile version of Warzone also in development.

CoD: Warzone 2 Season 3 Roadmap Details

Peloy’s Lighthouse

Pelayo's Lighthouse is a new 6v6 map that's set in dark and stormy weather. Initially teased alongside the FJX Imperium (Intervention), we only caught a brief glimpse of the map. However, the presumably coastal setting seems like a refreshing change of pace. The rest of the map has yet to be revealed, leaving us to wonder if visibility will be a concern for players.

Black Gold (Night)

Black Gold is a familiar map from Warzone 2 that's coming to Modern Warfare 2 with a new twist - a night mode. Players will use night vision goggles similar to those in the game's campaign to maneuver around the map and take down enemies. However, it's unclear if the goggles can be toggled on and off. This change is sure to bring a fresh and exciting challenge to the gameplay for Modern Warfare 2 fans.

Alboran Hatchery (In Season)

Alboran Hatchery, a new 6v6 map, will be introduced in MW2's mid-season update, but not much information has been revealed yet regarding this map.

Sattiq Cave Complex – Battle Map

Afghan, one of the classic maps of the original MW2, is making a comeback in the upcoming season. However, this version of Afghan has been altered and will be available in a larger-scale Multiplayer map. It is actually featured in the Warzone 2 map, Al Mazrah, and will be available as a Battle Map for Ground War and Invasion. The estate is also making a comeback, making this a promising patch for MW2 enthusiasts.

Rohan Oilfield – Battle Map

Rohan Oilfield, an area featured in Warzone 2, will be turned into a Battle Map for MW2. This map is an extension of the core map, Black Gold.

CoD: Warzone 2 Season 3 New Features

New Weapons and Operator

The upcoming Season 3 of the popular game will be introducing four new weapons, including the rebranded FJX Imperium sniper rifle and the Cronen Squall battle rifle, both of which are part of the battle pass. Additionally, two new fully-automatic sidearms with distinct roles will also be added to the game, which can be unlocked through in-game challenges or purchased via shop bundles. Furthermore, the premium tiers of the battle pass will offer the opportunity to unlock Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. More operators are expected to join later in the season and will likely be available through shop bundles. Season 3 also features an upscaled version of the battle pass bundle, with the standard pass available at $1,100 CoD Points ($10) and the more expensive Blackcell bundle offering over 7,000 CoD Points' worth of value for $30. With all these exciting additions, players can look forward to an even more thrilling gaming experience.

New Modes

Multiplayer mode is getting some exciting new additions, including Cranked, Gunfight, and GW Infected. Cranked is a fast-paced mode where players must chain together kills to stay "cranked" and avoid exploding, while Gunfight is a chaotic 2v2 matchup played over multiple rounds on small maps. While Cranked and Gunfight will be available at launch, GW Infected is set to arrive later in the season, allowing players to enjoy Call of Duty's Infected multiplayer mode on larger Ground War maps. In addition, Gunfight mode will get the Gunfight: OSP variant, where players must scavenge for their weapons and equipment from the ground instead of receiving a standard loadout each round. These new multiplayer modes promise to add even more excitement and variety to the gameplay.

Multiplayer Map

Season 3 of the game will bring new maps, including three core maps, two Ground War maps, one 6v6 night vision map, and four small arenas for Gunfight. Pelayo's Lighthouse is a stormy nighttime map set on an island lighthouse and will be included at launch. Black Gold, also available at launch, is a night-vision goggle map set at Al Mazrah's Rohan Oil point of interest. Later in the season, Alboran Hatchery and another unnamed core map will arrive. Both Ground War maps, Rohan Oil and Sattiq Cave Complex, will be added at the launch. The four maps for Gunfight are Shipment, Exhibit, Alley, and Blacksite, which is the new Gulag for Season 3 of Warzone 2 and are all familiar locations trimmed down for smaller 2v2 arenas.

New co-op content

The upcoming season of Modern Warfare 2 brings in exciting new content, including a new Raid episode with stealth, action, and puzzle-solving objectives for three players. While Episode 3 arrives later in the season, players can still experience Episode 1: Atomgrad and Episode 2 to catch up on the story and earn operator skin rewards. Moreover, a new Special Ops mission is set for the mid-season update, where players will combat the Las Almas Cartel in an unknown Al Mazrah location. As with every new season, there will be more prestige levels, seasonal challenges, weapon balancing, and bug fixes, with a new season of cosmetic rewards to earn in Ranked Play
