The Father of Louisville shooting suspect, Connor Sturgeon is Todd Sturgeon. A boy named Cameron, who is three years younger than Connor, was also born to Todd and Lisa Sturgeon. The 58-year-old ex-coach dwells in Floyd County, Indiana's Greenville.

He has also resided in other locations, including Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, Indianapolis, and Fishers in Indiana. Todd played collegiate basketball for DePauw University, where he also received his bachelor's degree in political science in 1988.

Prior to being appointed head coach of the University of Indianapolis basketball program, he earned his master's degree at Indiana State University. From January 2013 until March 2014, Todd also served as the organization's president, Home Care Assistance of Kentuckiana.

Three months later, he started coaching again, taking over as head coach at Floyd Central High School in Floyds Knobs. For his father, Connor played high school basketball. Before killing five people on Monday, Connor Sturgeon left Lisa and Todd Sturgeon a note.

The suspect in the shooting at Louisville, Kentucky's Old National Bank was identified as Connor Sturgeon.

At the Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky, when his coworkers were gathering for a morning meeting, irate employee Connor Sturgeon killed five of his colleagues in a matter of minutes. After killing 5 employees at the Old National Bank, Connor Sturgeon, a gunman from Louisville, broke his family's silence.

Sturgeon's parents' statement:

"No words can express our sorrow, anguish, and horror at the unthinkable harm our son Connor inflicted on innocent people, their families, and the entire Louisville community."

"We mourn their loss and that of our son, Connor. We pray for everyone traumatized by his senseless acts of violence and are deeply grateful for the bravery and heroism of the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department.

"While Connor, like many of his contemporaries, had mental health challenges which we, as a family, were actively addressing, there were never any warning signs or indications he was capable of this shocking act." 

"While we have many unanswered questions, we will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement officials and do all we can to aid everyone in understanding why and how this happened."

Who is Connor Sturgeon?

In Louisville, Kentucky, a 25-year-old bank employee penned a note to loved ones before going to work on Monday morning and opening fire, killing five people and injuring eight more. He knew he was going to be fired. Before starting on a full-time basis in June 2021, he worked as an intern at Old National Bank in Louisville for three successive summers between 2018 and 2020. In December 2020, Sturgeon received his degree from the University of Alabama.

He took part in an accelerated master's program and simultaneously completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees in finance. Sturgeon represented his high school's basketball and track teams in a suburb of Louisville, and in 2015, he was selected as a finalist for a National Merit Scholarship.

Louisville Mass Shooting

According to reports, Sturgeon was about to lose his position at the bank as an associate and portfolio banker. He was hired on a full-time basis after completing three straight internships starting in 2018.

Around 8:30 a.m., he stormed the bank and started shooting with an AR-15 assault-style rifle he had just bought, all the while live-streaming the carnage on social media. Sturgeon injured eight people while killing five employees, among them a personal friend of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

Sturgeon apparently left a friend a voicemail before shooting up his workplace, stating he felt "suicidal" and intended to "murder everyone at the bank." He also left notes outlining his fatal scheme for his flatmate and parents, though it's unknown when they were found.

Louisville Bank Shooting's Victims

All of Sturgeon's victims were workers at Old National Bank, which was closed for coustomer services when the shooting took place.

They have been identified as senior vice president Tommy Elliott, 63; market executive Jim Tutt, 64; another senior vice president Joshua Barrick, 40; commercial loan specialist Juliana Farmer, 45; and executive administrative officer Deana Eckert, 57.
