Days Gone is an action-adventure video game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2019 for PlayStation 4, with a Windows port released in May 2021. The game is set in post-apocalyptic Oregon, two years after a pandemic that turned some people into zombie-like creatures.
The protagonist, Deacon St. John, embarks on a quest to find his presumed-dead wife, Sarah. Players can explore the open world environment, use firearms, melee weapons, and improvised weapons, and use stealth to defend themselves against hostile humans and Freakers. The game mechanic focuses on Deacon's motorcycle, which serves as his main mode of transportation.
Days Gone was Bend Studio's first open-world project and its first original property since Syphon Filter in 1999. The game's development took around six years, with Bend Studio expanding significantly to support it. The game drew inspiration from World War Z, The Walking Dead, and Sons of Anarchy.
