Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is a thrilling video game that you can play for free. It was first released in 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows, but it became free-to-play in 2019. In the game, you become a powerful Guardian protecting the last safe city on Earth. You use a special power called Light to battle aliens and save humanity.
You can team up with friends for missions, battles, and adventures in a shared world full of exciting quests. Destiny 2 has awesome stories and expansions that make the game even more exciting. So, grab your friends and jump into this epic adventure.

ACTIVITIES
TRIALS OF OSIRIS
CRUCIBLE
SEASONAL CONTENT
Added a new armor set as a ritual reward. At the end of any Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit ritual playlist activity, players have a chance to earn a piece of this new set.
Fixed an issue where Director-level ritual challenges were not distributing Exotic engrams.
Fixed an issue where some players could not easily enter the Hive portal in the Season of the Witch wing of the H.E.L.M.
EXOTIC ROTATOR MISSIONS
Fixed an issue where the Deepsight Exotic weapon was not being awarded from the Legend difficulty versions of the Exotic missions.
Fixed an issue where players were not able to reach Archie, due to lasers and a non-functioning teleporter.
UI/UX
The Seasonal sub menu in the Quests tab is now using the appropriate Seasonal icon.
Stacks of transmat effects do not split into individual items in player inventories now. Instead, they convert to one, for players who have not previously logged into the game after Season of the Witch launched.
The Apply to All shader bucket now adopts the same shader item ordering as that used by the shader socket of armor items.
GAMEPLAY AND INVESTMENT
ABILITIES
Adjusted the description text for Weavewalk to correctly call out the use of melee energy.
Fixed an issue that was causing multiple Banner of War effects to stack.
ARMOR & EXPRESSIONS
Reverted changes to the Luminous Void shader's application on armor pieces.
Fixed an issue causing Malfeasance and Le Monarque to benefit from anti-Champion artifact perks.
Anti-Champion artifact perks should now all overcharge their respective weapon types in activities where that modifier is active.
Note: The Overload Machine Gun's artifact perk description will not reflect this functionality. This will be addressed in a future patch.
Fixed an issue causing the Festival Dance Exotic emote to not perform the correct animations or effects.
WEAPONS & ACCESSORIES
Disabled weapon crafting progression from base difficulty campaign mission completions.
Adjusted Kinetic Tremors to take 14 bullets to trigger on Submachine Guns.
Note: We will be adjusting other archetypes in a future release.
Fixed an interaction between Tessellation and Stormtrance that allowed players to shoot special shots more often than intended.
GENERAL
Destiny 2 Gameplay
In Destiny 2, you become a Guardian, a superhero-like character with special powers and cool weapons. You can team up with other Guardians to fight off enemies and explore different worlds. The game has two main types of gameplay: Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP).
Character Progression and Classes:
As you play, your Guardian can level up and become stronger. You complete quests given by non-player characters (NPCs) to get rewards and experience points. Destiny 2 has three character classes: Warlock, Hunter, and Titan, each with unique abilities.
You can also choose your character's species and customize their appearance, although this doesn't affect how they play. As you progress, you can unlock different subclasses with special powers, and expansions introduce even more exciting abilities.
Gear:
In Destiny 2, you collect weapons and armor to improve your Guardian's abilities. The gear is divided into different types, like Kinetic, Energy, and Power weapons. You can also customize your gear with mods that enhance your character's stats and abilities. The game has introduced changes in how gear works over time, including a new armor system and the introduction of various weapons and mods.
Player versus Environment (PvE):
Most of the game is about PvE, where you explore different planets, complete missions, and face various challenges. You can team up with other players for activities like strikes, raids, and dungeons. Completing these activities earns you experience points, gear, and resources to improve your Guardian's power level. There are also weekly milestones and special events like Iron Banner and Gambit to participate in.
Player versus Player (PvP):
For those who love PvP combat, Destiny 2 has the Crucible, where you can battle other players in different game modes. The game aims to balance the playing field by adjusting player statistics, making it about skill rather than gear. There are various modes to choose from, and special events like Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner offer unique challenges and rewards.
Gambit Mode:
Introduced in the game's second year, Gambit is a unique PvP/PvE hybrid mode. In Gambit, two teams of four players compete to defeat AI opponents and collect motes, which are then banked to spawn powerful blockers and invade the opposing team's side. The first team to summon and defeat their boss wins the round. Gambit Prime, a more intense version of Gambit, adds additional challenges and roles for players.
Destiny 2 Plot
In Destiny 2, players on an epic journey in a science fiction world filled with danger and mystery. The game's plot unfolds across several expansions and seasons, each adding new layers to the story.
The Red War (2017)
The game begins with the Red Legion, led by Dominus Ghaul, attacking the Last City and crippling the Guardians by stealing their Light. Players take on the role of a Guardian who, with the help of allies like Suraya Hawthorne, Cayde-6, and Ikora Rey, must confront Ghaul and the Red Legion. The story revolves around the struggle to regain the Guardians' powers, save the Traveler, and thwart Ghaul's ambitions to harness the Light.
Leviathan and Beyond
After defeating Ghaul, players encounter Emperor Calus and the Leviathan, a colossal Cabal ship. This introduces new mysteries and challenges.
New Light (2019)
New players are introduced to the Destiny universe, learning about the Traveler, Light, and Guardians, while returning players can experience the original Destiny's first mission.
2020 Update
With the Beyond Light expansion, the original Destiny 2 campaign is placed in the Destiny Content Vault. A new player experience provides an expanded origin story for newcomers.
Ongoing Content
Destiny 2's seasonal content, starting with Shadowkeep, reveals an impending threat from Pyramid-shaped ships related to the Darkness. Guardians face Hive, Vex, and the deceptions of Savathûn.
The Witch Queen
Savathun, a Hive god, obtains Light powers, sparking conflict. Guardians uncover her past and deal with the Lucent Brood, eventually confronting her within her Throne World.
Lightfall(2023)
In the Lightfall expansion, the story focuses on the return of Emperor Calus, who has aligned himself with a mysterious entity known as the Witness. Calus has established a stronghold on Neptune, a new destination for players. The Guardians confront Calus, who aids the Witness in acquiring a powerful object called the Veil. With this artifact, the Witness pierces the Traveller's protective shell, leaving the Vanguard and their allies shocked and vulnerable.
The Final Shape (Expected 2024)
The upcoming expansion, The Final Shape, promises to reveal even more about the evolving Destiny 2 narrative. It hints at the return of Cayde-6, with actor Nathan Fillion reprising the role. The story revolves around events taking place inside the Traveller through the portal opened by the Witness. This expansion is expected to unravel the mysteries surrounding the Traveller's actions on Fundament and its connection to the origin of the Hive, bringing further revelations to the Destiny 2 universe.
