Disney Dreamlight Valley is a new video game that came out in 2023. It's a game where you get to take care of a special valley filled with Disney and Pixar characters. These characters had a problem - they lost their memories because of a curse. The game lets you help them and take care of this magical place.
It first came out for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on September 6, 2022. Later, on December 6, 2022, they released it for macOS along with some new stuff in the game. At first, you had to pay to play it early, but they were thinking of making it free. But in October 2023, they changed their minds and decided it wouldn't be free after all.
The game was fully released on December 5, 2023, along with its first big extra part called A Rift in Time.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Gameplay
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you get to dive into a world where you take care of this magical place filled with Disney and Pixar characters. It's like being in a big adventure where you control a character living in this special valley. Disney Dreamlight Valley Plot
The game's main story begins with the player returning to their childhood home in Dreamlight Valley, entering a dream world where their memories come alive. They meet Merlin, who explains that the valley was once full of happy villagers until a ruler disappeared, causing Night Thorns to grow and make everyone forget their past. Some villagers fled while others got stuck in the valley overrun by Night Thorns. The player decides to help fix things.
With Merlin's guidance, the player uses their magic, called "Dreamlight," to clear Giant Night Thorns blocking access to a house resembling their own. They find a memory hidden there and decide to investigate the Dream Castle. But it's blocked by more Giant Night Thorns.
After meeting trapped villagers and getting special tools, they break the spell of eternal night, clearing the way to the Dream Castle. Inside, they discover portals to different realms where villagers fled. These realms are sealed by Night Thorns, so the player collects more Dreamlight, unlocks the doors, and helps the characters there.
Along the way, they fix local businesses, provide homes, and open up blocked regions in the valley by returning magic Orbs to their Pillars. As they help more, they gradually realize they were the valley's former ruler but stopped visiting, leading to the valley's decay. The villagers explain that the Forgetting and Night Thorns were caused by a dark being called the Forgotten.
As the player is about to restore the final Pillar, the Forgotten, revealed as the player's inner child corrupted by negative feelings, tries to destroy the valley using the Orb. The player follows them, talks, and helps the Forgotten remember happier times, stopping the rift from destroying everything. The Forgotten feels sorry and, with the player's help, makes amends, returning to the valley. They're forgiven by the villagers and become part of Dreamlight Valley again.
