Does Granblue Fantasy Relink have Ultrawide Support?

The fresh version that came out on February 1, 2024, doesn't bring the cool bonus of ultrawide support. But who knows, things might change later on. There have been instances in gaming where ultrawide support got added after the initial release - PlatinumGames could pull a similar move. Ultrawide support is pretty standard nowadays, so it's a bit puzzling why it wasn't there from the get-go in the new Granblue Fantasy game. Maybe it's some optimization thing.

Fans are crossing their fingers, hoping the developers will eventually hook up the game for ultrawide monitors. Even though the game officially lacks ultrawide support, the community might come to the rescue with mods. Mods are usually free and can do wonders in breaking free from a game's vanilla restrictions. But, be patient - creating such a mod might take some time.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink boasts a 4K display resolution in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio, but the wider 21:9 ratio isn't an option, no matter what platform you're on. If you're rocking an ultrawide monitor, don't worry - you can still play the game. The catch? The game will be locked in at a maximum ratio of 16:9, with black bars on the sides to fill the extra space. In windowed mode, that space will just mirror your desktop or other open windows. So, game on!

Will Ultrawide be Available in Granblue Fantasy Relink?

While it's not technically beyond the capabilities of Cygames to incorporate ultrawide support into their game, the practicality of such an addition appears to be a surprising prospect. The reason lies in the fact that only a relatively small percentage of players utilize 21:9 monitors.

For many developers, including this feature may not be a top priority, especially when the game is still accessible and playable on these ultrawide monitors, albeit without specific support.

From a developer's standpoint, if the majority of players are content with the current gaming experience on standard monitors, the urgency to implement ultrawide support diminishes. This decision is often influenced by the resources required for development and the perceived needs of the player base.

However, history in the gaming industry suggests that even if the official game developers don't prioritize ultrawide support, the modding community is likely to step in. Modders have a track record of addressing player needs and desires that may not have been met by the original developers.

Therefore, while the official release of Granblue Fantasy: Relink may not officially accommodate ultrawide users, there's a strong possibility that dedicated modders will take up the challenge to enhance the gaming experience for those with 21:9 monitors.

Granblue Fantasy Relink

Granblue Fantasy: Relink, a part of the Granblue Fantasy series, is a cool action role-playing game made by Cygames. It landed on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows on February 1, 2024, and critics loved it.

What's neat about Granblue Fantasy: Relink is that you don't always need to be hooked up to servers. You can play it offline and still jump into missions in online or offline mode. This is awesome because not all games let you enjoy them without constantly being connected to servers.

Another cool thing is how you pick your characters. While there's a main one, you can choose almost any crew member for almost any mission. It adds a fun twist to how you play the game.

If you're into Monster Hunter, you might find Granblue Fantasy: Relink pretty familiar. It sets up missions and progress kind of like Monster Hunter, with a main hub, a quest board, and lots of weapons to upgrade. It's a setup that fans of Monster Hunter might really enjoy.

Granblue Fantasy Relink Development

Back in August 2016, the gaming scene buzzed with the unveiling of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, initially known as Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link. This was a creative fusion between PlatinumGames and Cygames, teaming up to bring their unique talents to the table.

Musical magic was woven by composers Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita, while Hideo Minaba added his artistic vision to the mix.

Fast forward to September 2016, and the game got the green light for development on PlayStation 4, aiming for a 2018 release. The excitement hit its peak at Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference, where fans got a taste of what was in store.

Although the game ventures into a new location within the fictional universe of Granblue Fantasy, the promise of encountering familiar characters from the original game adds a nostalgic twist, especially for dedicated fans eagerly anticipating this fresh adventure.
