Dreamlight Valley Dark Castle Quest

In the cozy game of "Disney Dreamlight Valley," there is a main questline that delves into dark themes such as anger, resentment, and abandonment. Once you have completed the "The Forgotten Relics" quest with the help of Merlin, you will embark on one of the darkest quests called "The Dark Castle." This quest serves as the grand finale of the game (for now), and here's a walkthrough on how to complete it.

1. Starting "The Dark Castle" quest:

After finishing "The Forgotten Relics," Merlin will open a portal to the dark realm where you must confront The Forgotten themselves. However, before you can face the main villain, you need to open doors to access new levels of the castle.

2. Opening the first-floor door:

Equip the Onyx Crown and Thorny Wings (or other suitable options) and approach the door on the first floor. Interact with the door while wearing these items, and it will open, granting you access to the second floor.

3. Opening the second-floor door:

On the second floor, your task is to create a dish for the door to consume. Among the four ingredients, make a Night Thorn Sprout Salad by excluding the garlic. Offer the salad to the door, and it will allow you to proceed to the next level.

4. Opening the third-floor door:

The third-floor door is hidden and can only be revealed using a special lens. By this point, your camera should have the necessary upgrade. Take out your camera and snap a picture of the door's location next to the note on the wall. This action will unveil the door.

5. Opening the fourth-floor door:

To unlock the final door, you must locate four torches in the room and place them in the correct order around the well. Two torches can be found on the ground, while the other two are hidden behind ice that you need to break with your pickaxe. Once you have all four torches, head to the pedestal next to the fallen pillar. Arrange the torches in a counter-clockwise order: Dawn, Noon, Dusk, Night.

After placing the torches correctly, a key will fall into the water below. Use your fishing rod to retrieve the key, then open the final door to engage in a showdown with The Forgotten. The ultimate encounter with The Forgotten will lead to another questline that involves helping them release their resentment, culminating in a heartfelt ending that concludes the game. Although more story content is expected in Dreamlight Valley, this marks the end of "The Forgetting" questline.

Dreamlight Valley Gameplay

"Disney Dreamlight Valley" is set in the enchanting "Dreamlight Valley," a magical place filled with diverse biomes and beloved Disney and Pixar characters. The game offers a nonlinear gameplay experience reminiscent of Nintendo's Animal Crossing series. Players assume the role of a customizable human character residing in the valley, which synchronizes with real-time based on the player's console or computer settings. Exploration is a key aspect as players venture through the valley, gathering resources and employing their magic to eliminate "Night Thorns," unwanted plants infused with dark magic that appear throughout the area.

Cooking stations like ovens and campfires allow players to create delicious meals using harvested ingredients. Crafting stations enable the conversion of resources into materials or furniture. Consuming food replenishes the player's energy, necessary for utilizing magical tools such as pickaxes, shovels, fishing rods, and watering cans.

Meals offer enhanced energy restoration, granting movement speed boosts, improved luck in obtaining resource bonuses, and the ability to glide on magic for faster traversal (at an energy cost). Furniture and objects can be placed, rearranged, and rotated both in the valley and inside the player's house. Outfits and appearances are customizable at any time, with the option to further personalize clothing using the "Touch of Magic" clothes designer.

Unlike in Animal Crossing, tools, clothing, and furniture do not occupy inventory space. Tools are selected through an option wheel and do not degrade over time. The inventory screen contains separate sections for clothing and furniture, referred to as the "wardrobe" and "furniture" options, respectively.Players can earn "Star Coins" as currency during gameplay, primarily by selling items to Goofy at his stalls scattered throughout the valley.

Star Coins can be spent on purchasing crops, seeds from Goofy's stalls, materials from Kristoff's stall, exclusive foods at Remy's restaurant, or clothing and furniture from Scrooge McDuck's store. The currency can also be used for constructing or upgrading buildings through Scrooge's "McDuck Construction" company, which provides additional benefits such as expanding Goofy's inventory or increasing house space. Wells placed around the valley allow for fast travel to different biomes. Interacting with and befriending villagers, including heroes and villains, is an important aspect of the game.

By engaging in daily conversations, giving gifts, completing quests, and participating in various activities like gardening, mining, digging, harvesting, and fishing, players can build their friendship levels with the villagers. Some characters may have specific roles based on friendship level two, resulting in increased resource rewards for related activities. Increasing friendship levels up to ten unlock rewards such as Star Coins, exclusive furniture, clothes, motifs for "Touch of Magic," and access to new quests, while also enhancing resource gathering when spending time with the villagers.
