Elden Ring is an action role-playing game that offers a third-person perspective and combines exploration and combat. The game mechanics share similarities with other FromSoftware games, such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game takes place in an open world environment known as the Lands Between, consisting of six major areas. These areas vary in terrain and design, such as the grassy plains and ancient ruins of Limgrave, or the monster-infested wasteland of Caelid.
