Washington County authorities have recently provided an official report concerning the car accident involving Emily Lewerenz. Here is the released information:

At approximately 12:21 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, the Washington County Sheriff's Office received multiple reports of a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Hwy. 144 and Cty. Tk. H in the Town of Farmington. According to the initial caller, a tractor-trailer livestock hauler had collided with a small SUV. Responders from Kewaskum and Boltonville Fire & Rescue, along with sheriff's deputies, were dispatched to the scene.

The first deputy arrived within three minutes of the emergency call and quickly assessed that four individuals from the SUV and two occupants of the tractor-trailer were critically injured. Additional assistance was requested from West Bend Intercept, and Flight for Life was put on standby. One minute later, the second deputy arrived and was informed by a bystander that two individuals in the SUV were unresponsive.

Meanwhile, citizens who stopped at the accident site assisted in extricating the driver of the SUV from the vehicle. The front-seat passenger remained inside, with rescuers ensuring cervical spine immobilization as a precautionary measure until extrication could be safely carried out. Subsequently, the SUV driver was transported by ambulance to Froedtert West Bend, while the front passenger was flown via Flight for Life to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.

All occupants of the SUV hail from Marathon County, WI. The driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer cooperated with authorities and remained uninjured throughout the incident. Preliminary investigations, supported by witness statements, indicated that the tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on Hwy 144, transporting cattle.

The SUV, which had stopped at the stop sign on Cty Tk H at the intersection, suddenly pulled out in front of the approaching tractor-trailer. Despite the semi-driver's attempt to avoid the collision, the tractor-trailer struck the passenger side of the SUV. The SUV veered off into the northeast corner of the intersection, descending into the ditch, while the tractor-trailer veered off the road and overturned in the east ditch.

Concerned citizens who stopped to assist swiftly corralled several ejected cattle from the overturned trailer. Unfortunately, two cattle lost their lives due to the accident, and a local veterinarian euthanized an additional injured animal at the scene. At this stage, speed and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors in the collision.

Questions regarding the incident have been redirected by D.C. Everest officials to the Everest Metro Police Department (EMPD), as the crash fell outside of the EMPD's jurisdiction. D.C. Everest officials have taken steps to provide counseling services to students at the school.
