Finding the Alchemist, Balthazar, in Enshrouded involves a detailed journey. First, head to the northwest region of the map from your starting point, where you'll discover the Ancient Vault. However, getting there directly is tough, so consider an easier route from the Ancient Spire – Springlands.
Start by reaching the Ancient Spire north of your starting point. Solve platform puzzles to reach the top. Then, glide west from the Ancient Spire's fast travel point until you land near ruined buildings in Woodlands. Continue on foot towards the Ancient Vault, and be prepared to use dodge and roll movements to navigate tricky terrains.
As you approach the Ancient Vault, you'll encounter enemies outside. Defeat the initial foe, locate a red orb with stairs, climb up, and face more enemies in a red fort. Once that's clear, enter the Ancient Vault.Inside, go left from the entrance to find a room with red smoke and enemies.
Defeat them, take the left stairs, and switch to the long right stairs. Keep going until you reach a hallway, then turn right to discover the room with the Alchemist's pod.Deal with two melee guards protecting the pod, defeat them, and interact with the pod to get Balthazar the Alchemist. Return to your base using fast travel points, build a shelter for the Alchemist, and place him inside to add a valuable ally to your team.
