Welcome to the Enshrouded Beginners Guide! In this game, you find yourself in a world covered by a dangerous fog, and your job is to wake up survivors and clear out the destructive mist. Before you dive in, let's go through some essential steps to get you started on the right foot.

Things to Do First:

1. Construct a Glider:

• Find Shroud Spores from creatures in a cave passage (Cinder Vaults to plains).
• Collect Shroud Wood by chopping trees in the Shroud.
• Craft a Glider for flying around the world. Watch your stamina!

Bonus Tip: Learn the Airborne Skill from the Assassin Skill Tree to reduce Glider stamina consumption by 30%.

2. Forge a Grappling Hook:

• Scavengers near the Blacksmith drop Metal Scraps.
• Loot around the Ancient Vault for Metal Scraps.
• Craft a Grappling Hook for exploration and main story progress.

3. Create a Wand:

• Use 2 Bones to craft a basic wand for ranged attacks.
• No need for ammo, saving backpack space.

4. Locate the Survivors:

• Awaken five survivors in Ancient Vaults across the Springlands.
• Each survivor offers unique skills for better crafting.

5. Stock Up on Essential Resources:

• Collect Wood Logs, Stone, Plant Fiber, Metal Scraps, Salt, and Sparks.
• These materials are crucial for various recipes and upgrades.

6. Utilize the Blacksmith for Your First Build:

• Craft the Rising Fighter Set for better health and regeneration.
• Level 8 armor available around Level 3.

7. Unlock Key Skills:

• Spend Skill Points on Merciless Attack, Power Parry, Sneak Attack, Backstab Damage, and Well Rested for enhanced attacks and buffs.

8. Eliminate Shroud Roots and Clear Elixir Wells:

• Locate and eliminate Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells for Skill Points, loot, and XP.

9. Acquire The Wailing Blade:

• Find it in a Scavenger Stash near The Alchemist's Ancient Vault.
• A unique legendary weapon that also acts as a torch.

Bonus Tip: Use The Wailing Blade for light in dark areas.

10. Harvest Runes from Enemies:

• Slay enemies in the Shroud and salvage weapons for Runes.
• Higher rarity weapons yield more Runes for upgrades.

11. Expand Your Backpack:

• Go for the medium backpack upgrade for more inventory space.
• More pockets mean more resources.

12. Fuel Up with Meals and Snacks:

• Eat before heading out and carry water for stamina.
• Hunt, cook, and collect fruits and vegetables for health benefits.

Enshrouded Gameplay

Enshrouded's gameplay revolves around surviving and exploring the vast open world of Embervale from a third-person perspective. Up to 16 players can join forces in this action-packed, role-playing adventure. Players build bases, gather resources, and craft gear in the overworld. The game introduces "the Shroud," mysterious fog-covered areas filled with hostile monsters, where players risk their lives to uncover valuable loot and treasure chests.

To thrive, players must manage hunger and thirst, affecting combat efficiency. Drinking water boosts endurance, while food enhances constitution. Combat involves using various weapons, dodging, and parrying hostile attacks. As players progress, they unlock new talents and specialize in classes like Trickster, Battlemage, or Survivor. A glider and grappling hook aid in traversing the game world.

Upon character death, players retain equipped gear and crafted items, only losing collected raw resources. Enshrouded blends exploration, survival, and combat, providing an engaging and evolving gaming experience.

Enshrouded Development

Enshrouded is crafted by the talented team at Keen Games, a German studio celebrated for their work on Portal Knights. Taking inspiration from beloved games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Valheim, Enshrouded blends exploration and survival. While the combat is influenced by challenging "Soulsborne" games, it's intentionally designed to be more approachable, making it a welcoming experience for players new to the survival game genre.

The game was officially announced in May 2023, and a promising 8-hour demo was shared during Steam Next Fest in November 2023. Enshrouded launched on Steam's early access on January 24, 2024, allowing players to dive into the experience before its full release.
