Enshrouded, made by Keen Games, is a survival game where you need to stay alive. It came out early on January 24, 2024, just for Windows PC. The full game will be out in late 2024 for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Antony Christoulakis is the director. You can play alone or with friends in multiplayer mode.

Enshrouded Building

1. Getting Started:

• To start building, you need a Construction Hammer. Craft it in the crafting menu using 1 Stone.
• Hold TAB or LT to enter Building Mode.

2. Building Materials:

• Craft different building materials at a Workbench.
• Create a Workbench using 3 String and 8 Wood Logs.
• Interact with the Workbench to access building materials under the Blocks section.
• You start with basic materials like Rough Wood Block and Rough Stone Block.
• Discover more materials as you explore.

3. Placing Blocks:

• In Building Mode, your hotbar changes to a building hotbar with shapes.
• Use SCROLLWHEEL or DPAD LEFT/RIGHT to select shapes, CTRL + SCROLLWHEEL or DPAD UP/DOWN to change materials, and ALT + SCROLLWHEEL or RB + DPAD UP/DOWN to choose different building shape hotbars.
• Place blocks, foundations, walls, stairs, and floors using these controls.

4. Crafting Building Materials:

• Create building materials at the Workbench.
• Most blocks are crafted in groups of 100.
• Crafting materials usually requires resources like Wood Logs and String.

5. Freeform Building:

• Besides using the Construction Hammer, you can build without it.
• Select a building material in your hotbar (e.g., Rough Wood Block) and place or remove single blocks at a time.
• You can also use Building Mode and navigate to the Single Wall Block piece for similar control.

6. Scaffolds:

• For taller structures, use Scaffolds.
• Craft them at a Workbench using 5 Wood Logs and 1 String.
• Place Scaffolds like a Workbench to reach higher areas.
• Stack Scaffolds for more height, especially if using the ladder Scaffold.

7. Sculpting Terrain:

• Terraform (sculpt terrain) using various tools.
• Use the Pickaxe to dig holes.
• Flatten ground with the Rake.
• Use the Construction Hammer in Building Mode with the Single Terrain Block shape for precise terrain control.
• Experiment with larger shapes for more complex terrain adjustments.

Enshrouded  Gameplay

Enshrouded's gameplay revolves around surviving and exploring the vast open world of Embervale from a third-person perspective. Up to 16 players can join forces in this action-packed, role-playing adventure. Players build bases, gather resources, and craft gear in the overworld. The game introduces "the Shroud," mysterious fog-covered areas filled with hostile monsters, where players risk their lives to uncover valuable loot and treasure chests.

To thrive, players must manage hunger and thirst, affecting combat efficiency. Drinking water boosts endurance, while food enhances constitution. Combat involves using various weapons, dodging, and parrying hostile attacks. As players progress, they unlock new talents and specialize in classes like Trickster, Battlemage, or Survivor. A glider and grappling hook aid in traversing the game world. Upon character death, players retain equipped gear and crafted items, only losing collected raw resources. Enshrouded blends exploration, survival, and combat, providing an engaging and evolving gaming experience.

Enshrouded Development

Enshrouded is crafted by the talented team at Keen Games, a German studio celebrated for their work on Portal Knights. Taking inspiration from beloved games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Valheim, Enshrouded blends exploration and survival. While the combat is influenced by challenging "Soulsborne" games, it's intentionally designed to be more approachable, making it a welcoming experience for players new to the survival game genre.

The game was officially announced in May 2023, and a promising 8-hour demo was shared during Steam Next Fest in November 2023. Enshrouded launched on Steam's early access on January 24, 2024, allowing players to dive into the experience before its full release. Excitingly, the development team is actively working on versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, expanding the game's accessibility to a broader audience on various gaming platforms.
