Escaping Polygamy is an English-language American documentary television series about the works of three sisters who left their Kingston clan, a polygamous group in Salt Lake City, Utah, also known as The Order. They were in the process of helping out family and friends to break free from Polygamy and escape from the FLDS Church and the AUB Church. Initially, the show premiered on the A&E network and later moved to Lifetime Network. It has four seasons with 39 episodes. Initially, it was released on 30 December 2014. Jessica was the oldest of 12 children of Daniel Kingston and his sixth wife, Heidi Mattingly Foster. At 14, she was about to get engaged to her 42-year-old uncle as his third wife. Before that, Jessica and her sister, Andrea, ran away with the help of her aunt, reported to the police and lost their parental custody of their two daughters in court. Later, when Jessica was 18 years old, she was adopted by a family and started to help others to escape from polygamous groups. Jessica is 29 years old and pursuing a master's degree in social work; she is married and has three daughters.
Andrea Christensen
Andrea was the third child of Daniel Kingston and his sixth wife, Heidi Mattingly Foster. At 12, with her aunt's help, she and her sister, Jessica, ran away from her parents as they were abusive and neglectful towards them. Later the court placed the sisters in foster care, denying parental custody of their parents. Initially, they separated; later, they remained close and made others escape the tragedy. Currently, Andrea is 27 years old and is a lawyer that resides in Seattle, Washington.
Shanell DeRieux
Shanell was the second child of Daniel Kingston and his seventh wife, Shirley Snow. At 18, Shanell was verbally and physically abused by one of her first cousins in the polygamy group. After two years of her abusive married life, she left the group and her husband with the help and support of her mother, Shirley. Later, along with her half-sisters, Andrea and Jessica, she also helps others to escape from Polygamy. Currently, Shanell got remarried and has three daughters.
