This game follows up on another one called Far: Lone Sails, which came out in 2018. It's available to play on Windows computers, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S. The folks behind it include developers like Okomotive and the director, Don Schmocker, along with others like Goran Saric, Philipp Stern, and Joel Schoch. It's built using the Unity engine and can be played alone.

Far Changing Tides Gameplay
Like Lone Sails, Changing Tides is a game where you steer a big boat in a post-apocalyptic world. There's no fighting, but you steer the boat, work its sail, figure out puzzles, and gather stuff you need. As you play, you upgrade the boat with a steam engine, and you've got to keep it running by burning fuel and cooling it down with water to avoid overheating.
Later on, the boat can even turn into a submarine, giving you new ways to explore. If things go wrong, your boat might get damaged or slow down, but there's no 'game over.' You'll have to fix it up using things you find and sometimes solve puzzles off the boat to clear its path.
