Fortnite
In 2017, Epic Games developed and launched Fortnite, an online video game that has three versions with similar gameplay and game engine. These include Fortnite Battle Royale, a battle royale game that is free to play, where up to 100 players fight to be the last person standing. Fortnite: Save the World is a cooperative hybrid tower defense-shooter and survival game where up to four players fight off zombie-like creatures and defend objects using traps and fortifications they can build. The third version is Fortnite Creative, which gives players complete freedom to create worlds and battle arenas. Save the World and Battle Royale were released in 2017 as early access titles, while Creative was launched on December 6, 2018.
Although Save the World and Creative have been successful, Fortnite Battle Royale became a cultural phenomenon and overwhelming success, with over 125 million players in less than a year and earning hundreds of millions of dollars per month. By December 2019, Fortnite as a whole generated $9 billion in gross revenue. While Save the World is available only for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Battle Royale and Creative were launched for all those platforms, as well as for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. The game also launched with the release of the ninth-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

THE “FIND THE FORCE” QUEST TRILOGY
Just as Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith are a trilogy, so are the Find the Force Quests. The Find the Force Quests are separated into three main sets with certain Quests associated with each one. If you complete twelve Quests in a set, you’ll earn a Sith Holocron. Earn three Sith Holocrons to unlock the Sith Infiltrator Glider!
Each set of Find the Force Quests will go live sequentially and be available until May 23 at 9 AM ET:
“The Force Within” Quests are live starting now.
“Begun the Clone Wars Have” Quests go live May 7 at 9 AM ET.
“Fall of the Republic” Quests go live May 12 at 9 AM ET.
There’s an epilogue to this Quest trilogy! Still need to earn Galactic Reputation for unlocking Find the Force rewards? “The First Galactic Empire” Quests — which go live May 17 at 9 AM ET — will help!
Starting May 4 at 11 AM ET, unlock the Coruscant's Pride Wrap Discord reward by doing one of two things:
-
For 15 minutes or more, “Go Live and Screen Share” Fortnite on Discord to at least one Discord friend. - After 15 minutes, you’ll receive a link through your Discord account. Click the link to be taken to a page where you can log into your Epic Games account. The Wrap will then be added to your Fortnite Locker!
- While Going Live and Screen Sharing Fortnite, remember to keep in mind the Epic Games Fan Content Policy and Epic Games Community Rules. -
Complete the Find the Force Discord Quest. Start by entering the specified channel in an official Fortnite Discord server. (See the list of participating Fortnite Discord servers below.) In the channel, you’ll see a bot you can interact with to join the Discord Quest. - Upon interacting with the bot, you’ll be taken to a page where you can link your Epic and Discord accounts. With your accounts linked, participate in the Quest by completing a task inside Discord and a task inside Fortnite. After both of these tasks are complete, the Wrap will be added to your Fortnite Locked
MORE IN V24.30: NEW AND RETURNING REALITY AUGMENTS
v24.30 introduces four new Reality Augments:
TRACKER'S ARMORY
Grants a Flare Gun and Shadow Tracker Pistol.
DESPERATE RELOAD
Your Pistols will reload faster when reloaded with an empty clip.
STEADY HANDS
Your Marksman Rifles will have reduced recoil.
SMG SIGN OFF
The last three bullets of your SMG magazines will deal bonus damage.
Along with these new Reality Augments, four make their return: First Assault, Bush Warrior, Forecast, and Mythic Munition!
AUTO CONFIRM EDITS
In v24.30, an Auto-Confirm Edits setting has been added to Fortnite's "Game" settings and replaced “Confirm Edit on Release.” With this new setting toggled to “Both,” you'll be able to confirm edits and reset edits automatically as opposed to manually confirming edit selections.
MOBILE IMPROVEMENTS
New Weapon settings for touch enable mobile players to do more with fewer fingers or button presses:
Combined ADS + Fire: The main Fire + Look button will also aim down sights. Firing begins once the transition into ADS is complete. Other fire buttons will still work as normal.
Release to Fire: When using scoped semi-automatic or single-shot weapons, the main Fire + Look button will fire when released instead of when pressed. This means players can aim down their scope, line up their shots, and fire their weapons all with one button press. Other fire buttons will still work as normal.
Continuous Fire: Semi-automatic weapons will fire repeatedly while any fire button is held.
BALANCE CHANGES
In case you missed it, we’ve recently made the following balance changes:
Storm Circles 6 and 7 now move further into the Storm as the safe zone shrinks. Storm Circles 8 and 9 now begin moving earlier and travel further. Storm Circle 12 takes longer to close.
We've vaulted the Game Time Reality Augment and reduced the probability of Chug Splash loot.
We will continue to monitor the impact of healing items and matches that end in "heal-offs."
COMPETITIVE NOTES
MAJOR BUG FIXES
Fixed an issue where large rocks on the Island were not providing as many materials as intended when harvested.
Fixed an issue where using ODM Gear would sometimes cause a player to fly even if no longer using the item.
Back Blings no longer appear detached on the Highwire Outfit.
Fixed an issue where the Starter Island timer did not go down properly.
Fixed an issue that caused a long load time to occur when entering a match with the DirectX 12 rendering mode enabled.
Trunks and tree branches no longer appear to move erratically when playing Fortnite on mobile or PC Performance Mode.
The majorest bug fix: the Infinite Dab Emote wasn't looping for 15 hours when performed in the Lobby. This is fixed and it now loops for 16 hours.
FORTNITE SAVE THE WORLD | V24.30 HOMEBASE STATUS REPORT
The Fortnite v24.30 update introduces Survive the Horde in Save the World! Defend your bases from waves of enemies and earn rewards in the process. Also, v24.30 brings back the Brawl of the Wild questline. When you’re not dealing with waves of enemies, deal with the outbreak of wildlife. Learn more about v24.30 in Save the World below!
SURVIVE THE HORDE!
Riggs is sending you to a mining expedition to gather supplies, but this mining expedition is overrun by the Storm… While traversing the volcanic island, survive grueling waves of husks and defend your resource bases. How long can you Survive the Horde?
This new mode is coming to Save the World on May 2 and will be available until the end of the Scurvy Shoals Venture season (June 21, 2023, at 8 PM ET).
NEW MAP
In Survive the Horde, you’ll be well beyond the Storm Shield — at an old mining operation on a volcanic island.
The approaching Storm has split the island asunder, and you’ll have to navigate across deep fissures full of lava as you traverse the island. You’ll be defending three resource bases on the island — the Mine, Cavern, and Depot — with limited time to rush between them during breaks in the waves of enemies. Investing some resources in bridging these chasms will certainly be worthwhile!
GATHER SUPPLIES
The Storm is closing in fast, so there’s no time to harvest. Breaking down objects with your Pickaxe won’t yield any resources, which means you’ll be reliant on the Supply Drops that appear between each enemy wave. These Supply Drops will deliver your weapons, ammo, and ingredients. Can you survive on these limited supplies alone? It’s time to find out.
BUILD AND CRAFT
Build a fort, surround it with traps, and craft weapons to defend each of the three resource bases. If one of the resource bases is taken down, you’ll receive fewer Supply Drops, and if all three are lost, then the expedition will cease! Use your resources and the time between waves wisely.
DEFEAT THE HORDE
Survive 15 waves of increasingly tougher enemies. Look out for Horde Waves where a strong enemy type will show up en masse, and for gameplay modifiers that can appear during a wave to mix things up! If you’re reduced to 0 Health, your allies will only have a short amount of time to get you back up and into fray, and if your entire team goes down, the expedition will fail.
QUESTS AND REWARDS
There’s a set of Horde Quests for you to complete, including Daily Quests that reward Battle Pass XP and Quests that reward Banner Icons and Sprays! There’s also two Challenge Quests for Survive the Horde, which add difficult gameplay modifiers… but grant extra cosmetic rewards and Battle Pass XP upon completion.
CHALLENGE WEEK 1 - HASTY HUSKS (MAY 3 - MAY 10)
Damaging and eliminating enemies will just make the Horde move in more quickly! Even worse, if they get close enough to start damaging you, they’ll start healing themselves. Focus fire to try to take them out quickly (and preferably at a distance!).
CHALLENGE WEEK 2 - MELEE MAYHEM (MAY 10 TO MAY 17)
Ranged weapons and ammo from Supply Drops are limited, and any ranged attacks made against Husks will ricochet off and also damage you. But on the bright side, your Trap damage and melee attack speed will be boosted, so put away those guns, craft some extra Traps, and start swinging!
BRAWL OF THE WILD RETURNS - MAY 3 AT 8 PM ET
From May 3 at 8 PM ET to May 31 at [time], the Homebase crew will once again need your help dealing with a wildlife outbreak! In the returning Brawl of the Wild questline, do whatever it takes to defeat the creatures, whether that means hunting them, taming them, or even electronically communicating with them. Completing this quest line will reward you with the Hero Gia!
GIA
“I’ll show you how to run with wolves.” - Gia
EVENT AND WEEKLY STORE
THE POWDER KEG - MAY 3 AT 8 PM ET
Don’t let the Husks mess with ye plunder — drop the Powder Keg on them with this loaded Bow. This weapon fires a keg arrow that explodes after 2 seconds.
BUCCANEER RAMIERZ - MAY 10 AT 8 PM ET
"Let's swab the deck with theseHhusks." - Buccaneer Ramirez
BUG FIXES
Save the World bug fixes that were included in the Fortnite v24.30 update:
Games Modes of Fortnite
Fortnite, an online video game created by Epic Games in 2017, consists of three different game modes, all of which share the same engine and have similar graphics and game mechanics. The first mode, Fortnite: Save the World, is a cooperative player-versus-environment game in which up to four players collaborate to complete various missions. The game is set in a world where a storm causes the majority of the population to disappear, leaving behind zombie-like "husks" that attack the remaining survivors. Players take on the role of home base shelter commanders, collecting resources, saving survivors, and defending equipment. Completing missions awards in-game items such as hero characters, weapon schematics, and survivors that can be leveled up for improved attributes. Fortnite Battle Royale is a player-versus-player game mode in which up to 100 players can play alone, in duos, or in squads.
Players are air-dropped from a "Battle Bus" onto the game's map and must scavenge for weapons, items, and resources while attempting to survive and eliminate other players. As the round progresses, the safe area of the map decreases, forcing players into tighter spaces and encouraging player encounters. The last remaining player, duo, or squad is the winner. Finally, Fortnite Creative is a sandbox game mode that allows players to create their own personal island and spawn any item from the Battle Royale game mode. Players can create games such as battle arenas, race courses, and platforming challenges.
