Generation Zero Plot

Generation Zero unfolds its gripping narrative in an alternate 1989 Sweden, where the serene landscape is disrupted by the presence of violent robots that have seized control. From diminutive scouting drones to colossal robots towering over houses, the mechanized invaders have left the once-thriving populace missing, creating an atmosphere of mystery and survival.

Players step into the shoes of a Swedish teenager, returning from an island escapade to find their home transformed and their fellow citizens gone. Stranded in the Swedish wilderness, the player must navigate the challenges posed by the robotic adversaries, surviving the hostile environment while unraveling the truth behind the disappearance of the local residents.

The game's artistic style draws comparisons to the distinctive artwork of Simon Stålenhag, capturing the essence of his surreal and captivating creations. Despite these perceived parallels, Avalanche Studios has clarified that the game's visual design is not directly influenced by Stålenhag's art, and the artist himself was not involved in any capacity in the development of Generation Zero. The game stands as a unique and immersive experience, blending a compelling narrative with intense survival gameplay in a world besieged by robotic adversaries.
