Ghosted Ending Explained

Cole and Sadie manage to escape from Leveque's goons, but he places a $1 million bounty on their heads because he believes they have the passcode to Aztec, a biochemical weapon. Sadie is actually after Leveque because he plans to sell Aztec, and she killed Elena, an enemy agent, who had the passcode.

After avoiding being captured by bounty hunters, Sadie discovers where Leveque wanted them to take Cole and uses it to pretend to be a bounty hunter to get her hands on Aztec. Cole and Sadie find themselves on a plane with Wagner, Leveque's right-hand man. Wagner sees a selfie that Cole took of him with Sadie, so the ruse is broken.

Nevertheless, they manage to fight off the goons and parachute off the plane with Aztec. They land on an island, where Sadie sends a beacon for the CIA to come and get them. Unfortunately, Wagner has also tracked them to the island and gets there first to steal back Aztec before the CIA arrives.

Cole works out the key to the passcode after spotting an amaranth in the background of a crime scene photo of Elena's death. Sadie suggests they use the first part of the passcode to lure Leveque into a trap to take back Aztec. Sadie then uses the money she receives from Leveque's buyer to put a bounty on Leveque's head, and a shoot-out ensues, which ends with Cole besting Wagner and Sadie retaking Aztec before Leveque falls to his death.

The final scene takes place three months later, with Sadie and Cole on a rail tour of Europe. Sadie is hunting down "clients," while Cole finally gets to work on his book about the history of farming. Ghosted is a show available to watch on Apple TV+.

Ghosted Plot

Sadie, a lonely woman, meets Cole at a farmers' market in Washington, D.C. They enjoy an all-night date which ends with them having sex. However, Cole is unable to get in touch with Sadie when he returns home. His family helps him track her down in London, where he is abducted by arms dealers who mistake him for "the Taxman," a legendary CIA operative.

Sadie rescues Cole before he can be tortured, revealing that she is, in fact, the Taxman. Together, they escape their captors and head to a nearby town to plan their next move.

Sadie and Cole's lies to each other come to light, and they meet Marco, Sadie's old contact and former lover. Marco warns Cole that Sadie is more committed to her missions than to her romantic relationships. Their plans are interrupted by bounty hunters, and Marco is killed in the process. Leveque, a disgraced French Intelligence agent who is selling a stolen bio-weapon called "Aztec," puts a price on Cole's head. Sadie decides to use Cole as bait to recover Aztec.

Sadie delivers Cole to Leveque, who leaves his henchman, Wagner, on a plane with Sadie, Cole, and the locked case containing Aztec. Wagner discovers a picture of Cole and Sadie in bed together on Cole's phone, which blows their cover.

Cole parachutes to safety with the Aztec case and a wounded Sadie, landing on Socotra Island. There, Cole uses his agricultural knowledge to treat Sadie's wounds, and they reconnect. However, Leveque's men ambush them, and Wagner escapes with the case. The U.S. Marines rescue Cole and Sadie.

At CIA headquarters, Sadie is suspended for losing Aztec and putting Cole in danger. She apologizes to Cole, but he is hurt by her prioritizing her mission over their relationship. Cole helps to decipher the passcode, and they continue to masquerade as the Taxman, luring Leveque with an offer to sell the passcode.

Leveque meets Cole at a revolving restaurant with his own buyer for Aztec, Mr. Utami, and has the agents monitoring Cole killed. Sadie arrives, selling the passcode to Mr. Utami instead for $10 million, and restoring Cole's trust in her. She uses the money to place a bounty on Leveque, and they are immediately surrounded by bounty hunters.

A gunfight ensues, damaging the revolving mechanism and spinning the restaurant at high speed. Leveque shoots Utami, and Cole kills Wagner by throwing him into the mechanism. Sadie sends Leveque crashing through a window to his death and saves the Aztec device. Sadie and Cole rekindle their relationship and make time for each other between, and during, their missions.
