The plot of the game revolves around the race of dragon-like warriors known as the dracthyr awakens from a 20,000-year hibernation on the Isle, which is an island named the Forbidden Reach. They learn their storage was the result of their master, Neltharion (Deathwing), who dreaded the potential power they may wield if they weren't under his control. The game makes us feel better about their predicament. The dracthyr come across rival proto-dragons who want to topple the Aspects' rule as they get their bearings.
