The game was subsequently released on March 4, 2022, for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms, marking the first installment in the series to be available on multiple consoles. Notably, Gran Turismo 7 introduced virtual reality support through a complimentary in-game update, allowing players to experience the game using PlayStation VR2.

The critical reception of Gran Turismo 7 has been largely positive, with critics praising its impressive graphics and engaging gameplay. However, there have been concerns raised by players regarding the inclusion of microtransactions, excessive grinding mechanics, and the requirement for an always-online digital rights management (DRM) system. Despite these criticisms, the game has garnered considerable acclaim for its overall quality and immersive racing experience.

Additionally, there are stunning new Scapes locations, engine swap options for select car models, and improvements to gameplay mechanics such as earning rewards based on Sport Mode rankings and enhanced multiplayer lobby settings. The update offers an immersive and thrilling experience, with the potential for more discoveries from the passionate GTPlanet community. Get ready to dive into an enhanced racing adventure in Gran Turismo 7.

Gran Turismo 7 Gameplay

Gran Turismo 7 brings back the beloved GT Simulation Mode, offering players an immersive single-player campaign experience. Fans of the series will be pleased to find familiar features returning, including traditional racing tracks, a vast selection of vehicles, Special Events, Championships, Driving School, Tuning Parts Shop, Used Cars dealership, GT Auto, and the popular GT Sport Mode, Brand Central, and Discover (now known as Showcase) introduced in Gran Turismo Sport.

Dynamic time and weather effects make a triumphant comeback, previously seen in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6. However, it's important to note that while the game includes a single-player campaign, an internet connection is required to save progress due to the persistent online connectivity.

This decision was made to ensure a fair and secure gaming experience by preventing hacking and cheating. Nevertheless, Arcade mode remains fully accessible offline, providing an offline racing experience. For players on the PlayStation 5, Gran Turismo 7 capitalizes on the console's enhanced capabilities.

Utilizing the increased processing power, dedicated ray-tracing hardware, custom solid-state drive storage, Tempest Engine, and the innovative DualSense controller, the game offers advanced features such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, real-time ray tracing effects, 3D spatial audio, and significantly reduced loading times.

The PlayStation 5 version of Gran Turismo 7 boasts stunning visuals with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second support, complemented by high dynamic range technology. Furthermore, drivers from the prestigious Gran Turismo World Series, the esports competition of Gran Turismo, make appearances as AI opponents and coaches during License Tests, adding an exciting touch to the game.
