Despite garnering generally positive reviews for its impressive graphics and engaging gameplay, players expressed concerns about its use of microtransactions, excessive grinding, and the requirement for an always-online connection. While critics applauded certain aspects, some aspects of the game's design and monetization strategy were met with criticism from the gaming community.

Gran Turismo 7 Gameplay

Gran Turismo 7 brings back the single-player campaign called GT Simulation Mode, offering familiar features like traditional racing tracks, vehicles, Special Events, Championships, Driving School, Tuning Parts Shop, Used Cars dealership, GT Auto, GT Sport Mode, Brand Central, and Discover (now called Showcase).

Players progress through tasks at the GT Café to unlock multiplayer, tracks, and cars. The game reintroduces dynamic time and weather effects from previous versions. Despite having a single-player mode, an internet connection is required for saving progress to prevent cheating, according to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi. Arcade mode is available offline.

On the PlayStation 5, the game leverages the console's capabilities, utilizing advanced haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, real-time ray tracing, 3D spatial audio, and reduced loading times. Running at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second with HDR support, the PlayStation 5 version also features AI opponents and coaches from the Gran Turismo World Series, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
