Granblue Fantasy Relink Development 

Granblue Fantasy: Relink was first announced as Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link in August 2016, and it was a collaborative effort between PlatinumGames and Cygames. The game involves notable staff members like composers Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita, as well as artist Hideo Minaba. Initially, it was planned for release on PlayStation 4 in 2018, with a setting in the same fantasy realm as the original Granblue Fantasy, though in a different location, featuring some familiar characters.

The first glimpse of gameplay was revealed at GranBlue Fes 2017, showcasing aspects like four-person co-op multiplayer or single-player with three AI characters. The official title, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, was disclosed in December 2018. By February 2019, PlatinumGames withdrew from the project, leaving Cygames to handle the remaining development. Yasuyuki Kaji, who had been directing Relink since the beginning alongside PlatinumGames, continued working on the game with Cygames until its completion.
