Greta Van Fleet is a rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed back in 2012. The band is made up of the Kiszka brothers: Josh, who sings, and Jake, who plays the guitar, along with Sam, who plays bass guitar and keyboards, and Danny Wagner, who's on the drums.
In March 2017, they got signed to Lava Records, and shortly after, they released their first studio EP called "Black Smoke Rising". One of their early songs, "Highway Tune", became a big hit, reaching the top of the charts for four weeks in a row in September 2017.
Their second EP, "From the Fires", came out in November 2017. It included the songs from "Black Smoke Rising" and added four new tracks, including another hit single called "Safari Song". This EP won them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2019. Their first full-length album, "Anthem of the Peaceful Army", dropped in October 2018.
It quickly climbed the charts, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard Rock Albums chart in its first week. The album's single, "When the Curtain Falls", also hit number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Their success continued with their second studio album, "The Battle at Garden's Gate", released in April 2021. And in July 2023, they released their third studio album, "Starcatcher".
