GTA 5 Gameplay

Grand Theft Auto V is an action-adventure game where players can choose between a third-person or first-person perspective. The game consists of missions with set objectives that allow players to progress through the story. Players can also roam freely in the open world that includes the San Andreas open countryside area, the fictional Blaine County, and the fictional city of Los Santos, which is much larger in area than earlier entries in the series.

Players use melee attacks, firearms, and explosives to fight enemies and can run, jump, swim, or use vehicles to navigate the world. The game introduces vehicle types absent in its predecessor Grand Theft Auto IV, such as fixed-wing aircraft, to accommodate the map's size. Combat includes auto-aim and a cover system to assist players against enemies, and players' health meters regenerate gradually.

The single-player mode lets players control three characters, and outside of missions, players may switch between characters at will by a directional compass on the HUD. Each character has a set of eight skills that represent their ability in specific areas such as shooting and driving.

While free-roaming the game world, players may engage in context-specific activities and visit businesses. The Internet lets players trade in stocks via a stock market, purchase properties such as garages and businesses, upgrade the weapons and vehicles in each character's arsenal and customize their appearance by purchasing outfits, haircuts, and tattoos.
