Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is a magical action RPG that was released in 2023. The game is developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games under its Portkey Games label. It is set in the Wizarding World universe and is based on the Harry Potter novels. The game is available on platforms like PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, and it is set to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later in 2023.

The player takes on the role of a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1899. The game allows players to learn different magical abilities and spells, and explore the iconic Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The game is set before the events of the Harry Potter novels and players will encounter familiar characters and locations, including the Great Hall, Forbidden Forest, and Hogsmeade Village.

Avalanche Software began development on the game in 2018 after its acquisition by Warner Bros. in 2017. The game was first announced in 2020, but it was subject to several delays before its release in 2023. There was a lot of anticipation surrounding the game, and some pre-release gameplay footage was leaked onto the internet in 2018.

Despite the technical issues and side missions that received criticism, the game received generally positive reviews from critics. The game was praised for its well-designed world, compelling characters, and engaging combat system. However, there was controversy surrounding the game due to the views on transgender people held by J. K. Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter series, and allegations that the game contained antisemitic tropes, leading to calls for a boycott.

Hogwarts Legacy High Keep

This article is a guide to complete The High Keep quest in Hogwarts Legacy, where the player must infiltrate Falbarton Castle in search of a letter that could expose the evil schemes of Rookwood and Harlow.

To begin the quest, the player must talk to Natty just outside of Falbarton Castle, who will inform them about a letter that proves the collusion between Rookwood and Harlow. After the conversation, the player should head towards the right and climb up the battlements. They must then use the spell Depulso to hit the mechanism on the left and use Wingardium Leviosa to move the crate to the right. The player must then climb on top of the crate, and use Levioso again to climb up to the upper rampart.

The player should then hit the wooden boards to create a crawlspace. Before crawling through, the player must go around the right and use Accio on the crate in the room to get some loot. Afterward, the player can crawl through the space to get inside the castle.

Once inside, the player must use Depulso to hit the gate mechanism multiple times and quickly use Accio to pull on the ring on the wall to prevent the gate from closing completely. Natty will join the player, and they both must head up to the gate to witness a cutscene where Highwing the hippogriff is attacked by dark wizards.

The player must then climb up the battlements to the right and use Depulso to hit the broken window on the crate at the end of the walkway. This will reveal some loot.

How To Climb The Battlements Hogwarts Legacy?

The High Keep is a quest given by Natty, one of your classmates in Hogwarts Legacy. This mission will be available during the "Prepare For Your Search For The Final Keeper" chapter, which takes place in the autumn season. To start this quest, track it and head to the marked location northeast of Hogsmeade.

To begin, your first objective is to climb the battlements. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Destroy the wooden barricade and push the device with Depulso.
  2. Use Wingardium Leviosa on the crate and place it under the ruined section of the battlements wall.
  3. Cast Levioso on the crate to lift it up, allowing you to climb on top of it to grab onto the ledge.

Next, you need to open the gatehouse:

  1. Destroy the wooden barricade and spam Depulso on the block until it moves away. This will let you crawl through the opening
  2.  In the gatehouse, cast Depulso repeatedly on the device to fully raise the gate.
  3. Once the handle is visible, quickly cast Accio to pull it.

During this section, you and Natty will witness a cutscene where Highwing the hippogriff is being attacked by poachers. After this, continue up the ramparts and push a crate down a nook using Depulso. Then, use Wingardium Leviosa to move the crate to a gap and Levioso to lift it higher, allowing you to jump across the gap.

As you progress, you'll encounter enemies on the ramparts. You can either engage them in combat or use stealth by casting Disillusionment. To take them out quietly, use Depulso to push enemies near the edge to their demise or sneak up behind them and use Petrificus Totalus.

Towards the end, you'll face a couple of assassins who can be pushed off the edge using Depulso. Inside the tower, you'll find a door with a level 2 lock that can be opened with Alohomora, assuming you've collected enough Demiguise Moons. You'll also encounter Puffskeins and Nifflers, which you can add to your Vivarium using the Nab-Sack.

Finally, you'll reach the top of the tower where you'll free Highwing and escape with Natty, followed by a memorable sequence where you both fly across the countryside on hippogriffs. Completing The High Keep quest unlocks the Hippogriff as a flying mount, while the Dark Arts Pack grants access to other mounts, including the Thestral.

How To Open The Main Gate Hogwarts Legacy?

To enter the High Keep quest, you must first find a way to break into the gatehouse. However, before attempting the mission, make sure that you have learned the spells Wingardium Leviosa, Depulso, and Accio, as they are necessary for this task. Follow these steps to get past the obstacle:

  • Go to the dead end that has a window adjacent to it.
  • Use Wingardium Leviosa to move the box blocking your path into the room in front of you. This will clear the passage and allow you to enter the room through the original entrance.
  • Once inside, cast Depulso twice on the lever to reveal a handle hidden behind the portcullis.
  • Cast Accio on the lever to open the main gate and gain entry to the castle.
  • Finally, remember to use Revelio regularly during your journey to uncover any special items or hidden secrets.
