The Columbian Exchange had several effects, including bringing new crops and resources to Europe. It also led Europeans to explore lands near the equator, which were better for farming because Europe was far from the equator and had less fertile land.
Europeans used Native Americans, particularly in Latin America, to work on their plantations to make money using a new idea called capitalism. However, diseases from Europe harmed Native Americans, and many of them died.
So, Europeans began buying African slaves because Africa had a big slave-selling industry, especially in places like Mali. They bought so many slaves that the African kingdoms were running out of slaves, and some people started questioning if it was right to take so many people away.
