If you've played "Like A Dragon: Ishin," you'll notice some similarities, especially concerning the brand system. However, even if this is your first time diving into the series or you haven't played "Ishin," the game's crafting mechanics are easy to grasp, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all players.

Upgrading weapons is a key aspect of improving your characters' effectiveness in battles. Whether you want to enhance weapons you've already gathered or create new ones for your party, the crafting system in "Infinite Wealth" provides depth while maintaining simplicity. The game encourages players to explore different strategies and invest in their favorite weapons, making the crafting process an essential part of the overall gaming experience.

How to Craft and Upgrade Weapons in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth?

In "Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth," crafting weapons is an essential aspect of enhancing your arsenal. To start crafting, head over to Julie's Gearworks on Hula Avenue, located just east of Resort Boulevard in Honolulu.

After progressing through chapter two of the story, Revolve Bar's barkeep will direct you to Julie for weapon upgrades. Julie's Gearworks is not limited to a single location; you can also find it at the Anaconda Shopping Center. Once there, Julie, your crafting specialist, will thank you for your help and open her crafting business. It's worth noting that Julie's auto repair shop serves as a front for her true talents.

Services at Julie's Gearworks

Julie offers three main services that players should make use of:

  • Crafting Weapons: To craft a weapon, consider the raw material cost, monetary cost, and the Facility Rank prerequisite. If you meet the requirements, invest in crafting your desired weapon at Julie's.
  • Upgrading Weapons/Adding Brands: Bring an upgradeable weapon without an elemental damage type to Julie. Upgrading improves all stats, and you can add elemental damage or modifiers called Brands to your weapon. Brands offer damage-type modifications and rare bonuses.
  • Material Exchange: Utilize material exchange services at Julie's Gearworks to enhance your weapons further.

Crafting Weapons - The Process

Crafting a weapon involves considering factors like raw material cost, monetary cost, and the Facility Rank prerequisite. If you meet these criteria, you can proceed with crafting. Additionally, you can invest in Julie's Gearworks to improve the Facility Rank, allowing you to access more crafting options. Don't hesitate to invest in weapons, as the upgrade level remains usable even if you switch to a different weapon later in the game.

Upgrading Weapons - Boosting Stats

Upgrading weapons is a straightforward process. Bring an upgradeable weapon to Julie, and she'll enhance its stats, including base attack damage and damage inflicted with skills while the weapon is equipped.

Certain weapons or materials may become available only after progressing through the story, so be sure to return to Julie periodically. Upgrade items, corresponding to the material the weapon is made of, are required for the enhancement. The higher-tier upgrade items provide a greater boost and require fewer items than lower-tier options.

Adding Brands - Enhancing Weapons

Brands, similar to Seals in previous games, offer damage-type modifications and rare bonuses. To add a Brand, level up your weapon to the specified level found at the bottom of the weapon's description. Different brand slots unlock at specific levels, allowing you to customize your weapon further.

Brands that improve your chance of inflicting status conditions are particularly valuable, considering the increased chances of applying your weapon's effects in various attacks. Julie offers several Brands without the need for extensive farming, simplifying the process of enhancing your weapons.

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth

"Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth" is a role-playing video game created by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. It serves as the ninth installment in the Like a Dragon series, following the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the spin-off title Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Released on January 26, 2024, the game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The storyline revolves around Ichiban Kasuga, the main character from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Kazuma Kiryu, the original series protagonist. Set in the first overseas location for the franchise, Hawaii, alongside familiar Japanese settings, the duo teams up to help Kasuga reunite with his mother in Hawaii. Simultaneously, Kiryu faces his own struggles, battling cancer. The game received positive reviews from critics upon release, praising its engaging narrative and gameplay mechanics.

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Gameplay

In the gameplay of "Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth," players take control of Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu, along with their party members, as they explore the Isezaki Ijincho district of Yokohama and Honolulu City in Hawaii. The familiar Kamurochō district from previous games is also included as a third location. Similar to the previous game in the series, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the combat system is turn-based, allowing players to strategically choose actions for each character.

Each character can pick from various "jobs" that act like classes, giving them unique abilities and playstyles. Kiryu's special job, called "Dragon of Dojima," lets him switch between different fighting styles and engage in real-time combat temporarily, reminiscent of the brawler gameplay from earlier titles.

The game features a variety of minigames, including classics like Karaoke, Darts, Mahjong, and arcade games like Virtua Fighter 3tb, Sega Bass Fishing, and SpikeOut. New minigames are also introduced, such as Crazy Delivery, a food delivery game inspired by Sega's Crazy Taxi, Sujimon Battle, a parody of Pokémon, and Miss Match, a dating app for Kasuga.

A significant side activity called Happy Resort Dondoko Island has Kasuga managing his own resort island, involving tasks like resource gathering, crafting, and social interactions. Kiryu has his own side activity, Bucket List, focusing on reuniting with old friends and allies from previous Like a Dragon titles.
