In Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, healing during battles happens mainly through two ways: using the Medicae skill and special abilities like Invigorate. When you're in a fight, characters with the Medicae skill can use Medikits to help heal injuries.

You can head back to your Voidship after a battle.

It's like a free healing session for your entire party. If your Voidship is nearby after a fight, it's a smart move to go back temporarily. This way, you can save your Medikits for future battles and make sure your team is always in top condition without worrying too much about using up your healing supplies.
