Dark And Darker is an extraction shooter similar to Escape From Tarkov, but set in a Dungeons And Dragons world with swords, spells, and monsters. The goal of the game is straightforward: enter a run, loot chests, defeat monsters, and then extract with your loot to sell to merchants. The Barbarian is the team member who goes in for the kill up close and personal. They play a similar role to the Fighter, but instead of attacking, blocking, repositioning, and attacking again, Dark and Darker's Barbarian just swings until they're the last one standing.
How To Level Up Dark And Darker?
You lose your loot when you die. You will perish frequently. Don't worry, your character will continue to gain XP even if you die. This XP is used to unlock new Perk Slots. After you've levelled up your character, you can start experimenting with different builds. You might even be able to extract a few times. Then it's time to move on to the more difficult levels of Dark And Darker.
In the Dark And Darker community, this is known by several different names. Some players refer to it as "the red," while others refer to it as "hell," and still others refer to it as "infernal," owing to the increased difficulty level of this section of the game. It's also due to the red portal that transports you (and your team) to the lower level. Blue Portals transport you home, while Red Portals transport you deeper.
There is better loot down here, but you must first survive the first dungeon before entering the second. Other geared players are likely to appear, even without considering the more powerful monsters. It is challenging. More information on this topic will be included in future Playtests.
Where Do Barbarians Excel?
NPCs or other players can be killed in two to three swings at most.

So let's get started with the first section, Skills. The Barbarian currently has four Skill options, which is fewer than most of the other playable classes, but all of them are at least usable. However, Rage and Savage Roar are the best overall options, and here's why:
Rage: is less useful in terms of direct damage than Reckless Attack, but the movement speed buff is enormous. That 15% bonus is just enough to catch opponents off guard who thought the Barbarian couldn't catch up, which is all that matters.
Savage Roar: Fear is applied for a massive 6 seconds, making it almost universally the best Skill option for PvE enemies. When Feared, enemies begin to wander away from the Barbarian in a random direction, allowing the squad to gang up on the enemy or allowing the Barbarian to get in front of the enemy so they can take aggro when the Fear wears off.

Some would say the Ranger, but the Rogue is hands down the best solo class in Dark and Darker. As a stealth-based type, it's clearly the best choice.
You take gear into each run, loot chests, defeat enemies, and try to safely extract with everything you've earned on the run. If you die, you lose everything. Once you have extracted you can sell your gear for gold at various merchants.
The first step players will have to take when a team member dies in Dark and Darker is, appropriately, to loot their body. The only way for a player to revive their friends is to get at the heart that is stored on the body.
So, as previously stated, the Dark and Darker Soul Heart is an extremely important item. You find these Soul Hearts when looting another teammate's body, when they have fallen in the Dungeon to either another player or a fearsome mob.
